Guest dwolfe711
The vet finally got Mercedes' biopsy report back today and called us this evening - with great news - it is NOT cancer!! She gave me a lot of medical jargon - all I heard was "NOT cancer" at first. Then she tried to explain their report so that I could have a clue what she said. They concluded that it was a cyst in the last toe bone - very unusual apparently - that burst and caused in cyststolic infection in her toe. It was very painful and showed on the x-ray like a tumor. Whatever the findings, Mercedes is well rid of the nasty toe and is walking and running like she doesn't miss it So - some good news for a change - I feel almost guilty being so happy after just reading about Jen's Apollo and so many others who are living with bad news - but we've had our share of that too and just knowing it's not the "c" word for a change has taken a huge weight off our shoulders. Our little girl will be with us for many more birthdays beyond her recent 10th!! Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts and concerns for her. silverfish
Excellent news! No reason to feel guilty for being happy, any more than others should feel guilty for being sad. It's the way the cookie crumbles - some you win, and it's absolutely right to be happy when that happens! And I'm happy for you, too! My blog about grief The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor would you want to. ― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
