HopeForHounds Posted August 19, 2009 Share Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) Jake of course. I came home and no Jake trying to push his sister to one side to get his share of Momma hellos. He was laying on his bed, right leg is pink and he has a fever - 103 f. I can't find anything, as usual, other than he whimpers if I move his dew claw or touch between his toes. We've been through many episodes of this, and he has had thorough testing including a joint tap with no diagnosis other than he seems to play too hard and wrenches his joints. Since he won't eat when he's like this I gave him a tramadol around 5:00. A little while ago I offered him some kibble and tuna but he refused. He would only taste a small amount of tuna by hand. I gave him some metacam. His temp is down almost a degree, but he is clearly miserable. I am going to go over his foot and leg with a magnifying glass. But, I don't think it's a bug bite. I took him out the front door to potty since it's just the threshhold and then one step. We went out without a leash, he didn't move until I went down the step, then he followed. That's how bad he's feeling, no way I would take him without a leash normally. His temp is down to 102.6, but he's really panting once he is up on his feet. It's so frustrating, my vet and I agreed I wouldn't bring him in if his leg swelled up again there really is no need. I medicate first and wait. He just seems much more uncomforatable this time. I did make an appointment for tomorrow that I can cancel if he's feeling better. I often can see things when I take pictures with my macro setting that aren't as noticeable when I'm trying to look where - the light is crappy and my nose is almost on the floor. What was looking pink actually looks like bruising. Thoughts anyone? Escuse the dirty foot. No idea Jey, anything's possible with Jake. He was fine when I left the house at 6:30 this morning and Frank said he refused to go out later but that isn't unusual. He wouldn't eat his breakfast and had to have help to go out to potty at lunch. He really is my mystery, problem child.
