greytluck Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Hobbes has a dental tomorrow and we are expecting that he will end up losing most if not all his teeth. He had suffered some permanent damage to his kidneys when he had the Lepto infection this fall so because of that he has been referred to a specialist to preform the surgery. From what I've heard from other people dogs do just fine with out teeth. The vet said he was most likely in constant pain from his teeth so after the healing is all done he should feel a lot better. He had a chronic infection in his mouth so this should improve his overall health as well. I've already been softening his food so not to much will change for him as far as food goes. greytluck Posted July 28, 2009 Author Share Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) I just got off the phone with the vet, I have some mixed news. The good news is he is awake now and the surgery went well. Unfortunately though he has an abnormal amount of bleeding in his mouth so the vet has had to give him a clotting medicine to hopefully reduce the bleeding. She is going to keep me updated but she doesn't think he will be able to go home tonight Please continue to keep him in your thoughts.
