Thank you for adding Snap. He is greytly missed. He was a huge presence in our home both physically and in personality and love. We still feel him everywhere in our home. This is the first time in since 2004 that I have a single greyhound.

So sorry for your loss. You must be so grateful for all those years of adventures. I have a 27yo mare who is still going fairly strong. I can’t imagine how traumatic an experience that was for you.

We had to make the hardest decision for our almost 11yo big, handsome, loving beast , Snap. He was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis 2weeks ago and treated with Doxy. First week showed good improvement. Second week things went downhill fast, most likely due to blood loss or cancer. Our Youngest greyhound, Snowee, took over his caregiving in the last week and told us he was ready. She was never more than a couple feet away from him. He was not physically in a place to do anymore exploring. We made the decision with our vet Monday morning. He was 82 pounds of love with a HUGE prey drive (several wood chuck kills, turkey feather mouthfuls, and 2 close encounters with skunks. He also chased a deer through our yard and got a hold of its hock before it escaped over our fence.) He was FAST! He loved his dog companions and everyone he met. He especially loved his vet, Dr Sarah Curry, who came in on her morning off to send him peacefully off. He will be missed💔

Dr Couts at VCA Wakefield. He is from Ohio and studied with DR Guilliard who pioneered the Flexor Tenotomy procedure. Very greyhound experienced. We had the procedure done 2 weeks ago. He is also a very sweet man💕

CBD oil works great for my Snap.

Mine have started shedding also here on the Seacoast of NH. What’s up with that???

I lost my first greyhound to Osteosarcoma at age 8. He was an Oswald Cobblepot son.

CBD oil works like magic for my Snap for a multitude of issues including pain management and anxiety. I second the night light idea. One of my elderly greys developed Sundowners, a form of dementia creating anxiety and confusion starting in the early evening. I wish I had known about CBD oil back then. I order mine from Canna-Pet, great quality product.

That’s exactly what my Snap’s paw looks after I Hull his corn.

We use Urea cream to soften corns. It makes his pad so soft. I use it on my cracked feet.

Just coming back as well and retired since 2013. Nice to be back.

Can you feed him in another room? This at least will decrease his anxiety. As for water added to his food, a 1/2-1 cup of water added to food should have no impact on his inability to hold his urine. I hope you find some answers from the vet. It really sucks to get old.

So sorry Jen. Just seeing this as I haven’t been back to GT in a while. He was a very special and sweet boy.
