It's oozing, so better safe than sorry. We see the vet at 3:45 today. I didn't think any of my dogs would ever match Skittle's vet bills when she was in critical care, but Bug is working her way to the top. She is cute as a bug, but boy is that girl ever 30 pounds of energizer bunny. It has been a real trick to keep her simmered down post-op because she and Sissy (my greyhound mix) are wrestlemania partners! I can't say mad at this little face though. Since she's on a daily dose of pred for her systemic lupus, it seems to be one thing after another! A suppressed immune system does KNOT allow for quick healing! They put him under a super quick anaesthetic, cleaned out the pocket of infection, put a drain in and sutured him up. He was put on antibiotics. He had his stitches removed yesterday and everything is just fine now. Hopefully Miss Bug will heal up nicely also! We are going to discuss starting her on Imuran when I take her in to have the sutures removed as she's starting to have some muscle-wasting from the pred.
