Guest Mom2Comet Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Frankie's diagnosis of gastric carcinoma was difficult to hear. We've always said that we would never let our dogs suffer. He had a rough Friday, a better Saturday and then today he was wretching and began whimpering. He wasn't eating, barely drinking but still had energy. Since Frankie was a stoic boy - he never even yelped when he fell down the stairs - we knew the whimpering was a bad sign. He was restless and was uncomfortable so we made the horrible decision that he shouldn't suffer anymore. We let him go around 8pm tonight. I'm sure Comet was the first 'person' he saw in Heaven. Now we'll see if Moose can handle being an only child for a while. We think our next dog is Fish n Chicks (Lori and Randy Doubles dog that is racing for Greyhound Adoption of Ohio) and would like to wait until she's done racing. We love you dearly, sweet Frankie J. I'm so sorry we had to make this decision exactly 7 months from your sister leaving. You were the best, most gentle boy ever. Thanks for letting us smother you and call you "Stinky Pete the Pirate."
