Guest WarmheartedPups Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Its been a year since Otis got sick and I helped him to the Bridge. I cant believe the tears still flow when I think of him. Some days the pain is still so fresh....other days I dont think of him...but when I do...it is still so emotional. I still tell Otis stories to friends........I still miss him so very much. We woke up one year ago...on a Saturday....everything was normal....but by days end....Otis was gone.....and one year later....I still blame myself....even though I know I had to believe my Vet......maybe I could have kept him from suffering for a few hours....given him peace a few hours earlier. I will never forget my friends that came to my assistance so quickly.....Lou and John.......helped me to get my big boy to the E.R. and then stayed with us and they helped me to hug Otis as he passed. Otis knew he was not alone. Well, maybe this year things will get better....maybe this year I wont cry as much...or remember so much. I am thankful Roo is doing well and she keeps Oaty's memory happy....they were so goofy together. .....................I am thinking of you Big Boy........Oatyman........I love you...........I miss you............you will always be my friend. I too understand how you feel - it has been almost a year for Hobbes and I still miss him terribly. I do understand how it feels when they are gone so fast. It was the same with Caesar so very recently. It is totally mindnumbing. Otis knows you loved him then, and still do. Hugs to you, Linda.
