Good Bye Old Man

So very sorry for your loss......

We understand exactly what you are going through it's been exactly a year since our princess passed away 4-Nov-07.

They do leave a big hole in your life..........but it does get easier and a little less painful.

My mare was 31 when she died, she was a 16.2hh thoroughbred Dk Brown almost black with a white cresent moon on her forehead.

I rode her on lessons when she was 15 at the stables and my husband and father bought her for me when she was 19 (in semi-retirement due to an injury).

Having ridden since the age of 2 and a half horses will always be in my blood like you but I have rescued a greyhound now and have a different chapter in the book and my hubby and I are volunteers for a group that rescues them....almost fills the void

Run free our beloved Sir Snowy, Pip, Queenie, Sadie, Tess & Rosie until we meet again......I would rather feel the thorn than to never see the rose

I had to smile while I was reading your tribute. I remember bugging my parents for a horse & when we finally moved to the country, we got one. He was white/dapple & his name was Mister Cloud. He was quarterhorse & percheron...long white hair off his legs.

Although they're not like our doggies, they are our best friends & if they could talk out loud, the things they could tell...Mister knew so much about me...things I've never shared with anyone & he too went to his grave with those secrets.

I'm sorry for your loss, and smile at your life with him...we are so blessed aren't we?

Being a "horse person" myself I understand what you're going through. You had a lot of time together...try and remember all the good things that happened in all those years. Although it's been a good long while now, I had to have my big man put down at the ripe old age of 25. He was a big (17.1) TB/WB who was spooky as all get out...very "marish". I'll be thinking of you. Take care.

So sorry for your loss. You gave him a very good life, I hope your memories comfort you. f_yellow

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

I'm so sorry. :grouphug:grouphug:grouphug:grouphug:grouphug The bond between human and horse is particularly special. The loss of one horse is felt throughout the whole horse community. We are with you in your mourning.
