Very Urgent Prayers For Cofax - Emergency Surgery Needed Tomorrow

Maybe I missed something? I know they did exploratory surgery -- did they find anything?

Having had abdominal (bowel) surgery 7 months ago I can tell you it takes a while to get to eating again. Sometimes the bowel just doesn't work again right away and there's generally no eating if that doesn't happen. Hang in; she'll probably be eating soon again. Best wishes!

Tina, I hope Cofax's smile, and wags and barking for mum let you believe in your heart that you and Bob made the right decision yesterday! She's clearly feeling so much better. This was wonderful news. That bed looks pretty comfy, too -- I'll be right up! :P

Hugs to all of you... bring in some chicken soup, or boiled chicken, or baby meats - something you know she'll love. I'm sure she's on pain meds and/or antibiotics, and they can wreak havoc on her appetite. If she's doing better and they can ease up on the pain meds, she may be more likely to chow down a little.

Hope she's home in her bed this time tomorrow!

Relieved to hear she is doing so well thus far. Fingers and paws crossed for continued healing and a "it's nothing much" lab report.

This is such a promising update - Cofax seems to be feeling better. Maybe she will regain her appetite in baby-steps. A little chicken soup & broth, some boiled chicken & rice - easy bland things to comfort her stomach. You have a good plan in mind and I'm sure when she is home again her appetite will improve. We all look forward to more Cofax updates and photos of this sweetheart.

Different surgery entirely, but when my Rickie was in hospital he wouldn't eat for the staff. I went in twice per day with the most tempting things I could find. What did best was home-roasted turkey (skinless, no fat) and cold vanilla Ensure. But even then, he didn't eat a lot and refused things like tripe he'd gobble up at home. The hospital actually released him to come home a day early because of the eating issue.

In spite of the pain meds etc., when that boy got home he ate like a starving animal. He just needed to be home.

Hopefully when Cofax gets home she will eat much better for you too.

I have been following this thread without posting, silently sending good wishes and prayers for your sweet girl. :grouphug

glad she's home! :yay :yay

btw, we went through the whole 1 floor thing with Nube when he had his surgery for bloat -- the incision was so large, we had to prevent him from jumping, going upstairs, etc for 2 weeks. Bruce slept with Nube on the couch for the WHOLE 2 WEEKS. what a guy :)

sending many, many healing prayers to Colfax and you guys!!! :hope :hope
