Phaelin's growth turned out to be a fibromatous epulis......it's a benign growth, so I'm very happy that it's not anything bad. Dr. Austin said these types of growths don't tend to spread, but they can regrow in the same place, so I'll be checking that area of Phaelin's mouth occasionally to make sure it doesn't come back (although Dr. Austin said it would be rare for it to do so since he believes he removed all traces of the growth). Phaelin's appetite is almost back to normal, but he still has some redness in that part of his gums, so I'm hoping he'll be 100% in another week or so.
