Guest hannahmom Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Please spare a prayer for my sweet gentle Chinghis DH and I came home from work to find him with a vastly swollen muzzle and am extremely high fever He's at the vet being monitored and medicated to bring down the swelling. I'll know in a few hours if he can come home tonight Vet says it looks like bees - lots of them, but no stingers are evident My poor sweetie - I'm just a basket case Tena *****UPDATE****** Well, he spent the night on IV fluids and both the swelling and fever have come down. The vet say we may never know what triggered it - the other 2 are fine and there is no trace of anything that would cause him to swell like that Apparently he howled all night ( ) He's sleeping comfortably and I'm working from home today so I can monitor. Guest hannahmom Posted April 22, 2008 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Well, his fever went up to 41.5 C and while it is slowly coming down, the swelling is not responding as well to the steroids as we'd hoped. He's going to stay overnight and get fluids. The on call vet sleeps in the apartment upstairs and will be able to check on him in the night. He's never been away from home overnight.
