Lady Penelope Of The Moon Flowers

The first time that we were 'infected' with Greys was at a show-n-tell in San Diego. This lovely older lady had these beautiful bouncy calm dogs all over her. I started talking to her and was under the asumption they were all her's...not the case, but all Greys that she had either foster at one time or help find their forever homes.

She introduced us to Fun. A crazy ** eared bouncy wild-eyed little girl! And she WAS Fun! LOOL! She was HUGE compared to some of the Greys that we saw at the SNT. She had been in a home before and turned out to be a bit food aggressive with her other doggie brethern in that home.

We took her home and thought, well, she's getting a new home how about a new name to go with her new life. So, we pick Penny...really she did. It was the only name she turned at....probably thought we said cookie or something.

A friend of ours is a Deacon in the church that we were attending at that time, and offered to 'christen' our new joy. What else would you say to a couple who had been married for ten years at that time with now kids?? So, Lady Penelope of the Moon Flowers was welcomed into the Nelson house hold in 2001. Actually, it should have been Lady Penelope has received her faithful two servants!!!

She moved with us from California to North Carolina...we are in the military. She has been my constant conpanion though a lot, many a deployment, and other separations. She has always reminded me when 0600 and 1800 occure....even though Greys do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

March 10th at 0900, she went to have her teeth cleaned like she normally does and had a reaction after the procedure. The vet has tried very hard to make sure that I understand what had happened (I was at work when all of the happened and my DH had to rely everything to me). I don't care what malignant hypothermia is....all that I know now is that my constant companion is not on her leash traveling with me but in a urn.

I miss you Penny and I hope that you are happy over the Bridge with Sadie; both of you with endless bunnies to chase and squeekers to sqawk!!

Your lovely Lady Penelope of the Moon Flowers will never leave your heart. Squeezing that big houndy soul in there is that pain you feel now. It hurts. But, that's love. :bighug :bighug :bighug

When a relationship of love is disrupted, the relationship does not cease. The love continues; therefore, the relationship continues. The work of grief is to reconcile and redeem life to a different love relationship. ~ W Scott Lineberry
