RaineysMom
first of all, I apologize for not being on here and posting lately, I have a ridiculous school schedule this semester and with work I can barely keep up with homework I used to post a lot more, especially in this section, but I do still follow the posts as much as I can and I send as many prayers and white light as I can, even if I can't post had a rotten day yesterday, I took a personal day because I had a feeling Rainey's pancreatitis might be flaring up, she threw up at around 4:30am....she seemed okay for most of the day until 6pm, an hour after I fed her (2nd time, 1st time at 9 am) -- she was in distress. So off to the vet (our regular vet), the dr. said he didn't think it was pan., or we caught it early on as her blood work came back ok (white blood cell count was low but he thought it was from her vomiting in the a.m.)? at any rate, she was acting EXACTLY the same way she did last year when she had it, couldn't lay down, kept sitting, not sleeping (eyes wide open, looking distressed), constantly stretching and arching her back, kept looking quizzically at her stomach....my poor girl she can't have any food until tonite (good luck with THAT one, she's a TOTAL food hound and will be driving me nuts today) and he gave her sucralfate and famotidine....she also got SUB-Q fluids, but they did a MUCH better job than the E-vet did the last time -- they gave her WAY less, and they put it farther back (midway) on her sides than the other time (right over her shoulders) so this morning it's all gone and she isn't swollen up like last time! They also gave her an opiate-based pain shot at the E-vet the last time that she had a sever reaction too and they did NOT give her anything like that this time. I'm taking another day off at work (they're gonna fire me aaarrrgh [hopefully not! ]) to monitor how she's doing. My little baby girl! there's a lot sicker houndies out that that could use your good thoughts but if you have a spare moment my little girl could sure use a little white light Thanks!
