Guest guinness_the_greyt Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) Many of you know Teri Rogo from West Coast Greyhound Gathering and other events throughout the country.... Teri is a very dear friend of mine and I am just heartbroken to say that her boy Eric went to the bridge this morning after a 3 week bout with Osteo. Eric was her first greyhound and catapulted her into the wonderful world of greyhounds! Eric never met a person he didn't like... and vice versa. It was impossible to be near Eric and not swoon for his big grin calm nature. He had many many people who inquired if he was adoptable... and so many people who would tease Teri that they were going to steal him. Even my Mom wanted to take Eric home... he was a such a special hound. Here is a pic I took when Eric came to stay with me 3 years ago over Christmas.... I tried many many times to get a picture of his huuuuge grin... But whenever he would smile he was always trotting right up to me. Eric even got in on the Misser Pink fiasco! Here is Teri holding the infamous Misser Pink while Eric goes in for the kill... Please keep Teri in your thoughts... Godspeed sweet prince! I will miss your smile! Below is the email Teri sent out today... Oddly enough something told me to call Teri at 6:30 this morning to see if he was ok. Guess I got a whisper from an angel... It is with greyt sadness to tell you that I helped Eric to the Rainbow Bridge today at 10:30 am. My heart is so broken! I will miss him so much. I have asked God to make him a greeter in heaven. Anyone that met Eric fell in love with him. Eric loved to be around people. This morning he was in obvious pain barely able to use his right leg. Thou he never made a sound. I went to check on him before I went to work and his left leg was swollen. The tumor had grown twice the size in just the past three weeks. I knew this morning it was time. I could no longer selfishly keep him with me. It was time to return him to God. My household is quiet and somber. When I got home I let everyone smell his collar. They knew. Kit crawled on the couch with me and just layed there. Run free my sweet boy and greet those with your smile that have gone before us.
