  1. so for once he didn't fall off the bed. He can do that though even without the diazepam. He is doing fine.
  2. and no dam* seizures. He had one tonight. dammit aarrrggghhh ice pack, honey and other high cal snacks, lots of water, diazepam & and extra PB. He's snowed on the bed now. Any one willing to bet he WON'T fall off the bed tonight. Sigh.

    Sam

    so sorry for you loss.
  7. He introduced you both to a whole new world.
  8. I was thinking about Wrangles the other day at Greyhound America in Abilene, KS. One of the attendees had a brindled boy who had no nose and an upper jaw that was malformed, (he did have the front teeth). My first thought was of Wrangles, then remembered that he'd, sadly, passed.
  9. lol, through IOWA last year we where trying to remember as many of the character names and home towns from M*A*S*H then we took a side trip to Riverside Iowa, the future birth place of James T Kirk, lol.
  10. 4 leged jammies. Some one on GT sells them, maybe adding a belly band type of strap to keep him from getting under it to lick. eta: found it: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...&hl=jammies and their site: http://www.hounds-r-us.ca/jammies.html
  11. ours is not even plugged in when not in use. And even then there is too much stuff sitting on top of it for the dogs to even reach the chute/shredding teeth.
  12. Hi Sage, EMT Gel - i used it with a cover of a petrolatum dressing overwrap (petrolatum impregnated gauze) brand name of Xeroform it is a human use product. If you can keep the gel on there is great skin grown with it. I used it on Sprite's elbow after her cancer surgery and the less than stunningly successful skin graft. EMT on wound, Xeroform around that, cotton wrap cvs brand worked, kerlix - 4" large roll of gauze wrap. I'd run a strip down the tail from high up, over the injured end, then back up and adhesive tape it to healthy fur/skin. then wrap more aounrd the bandaged end. It will hurt to remove but less than down near wound. Then vet wrap over the whole length of the gauze wrap. Then tray taping tail to the back leg. Curler works too, and also a piece pipe insulation (needs to have ventilation holes though)
  13. ah... another New Englander lured to the GREY side

    Krier

Run free Krier, you have a heck of a pack waiting for you.
  16. 1.) i am glad I got to meet this handsome boy at the GAS reunion. I didn't say anything or ask any questions about him because his furry neck reminded me a lot of Sprite. 2.) it is odd for me to see my town with someone elses name, it's not a huge place and now there are three of us on greytalk, lol
  17. as and FYI - In some humans it can cause weight gain. This is not something in the literature, yet. It gets used a lot at work for Neuropathic pain in para- and quadrapleics, believe it or not.
  18. Jordan, if you have a non-chain local pharmacy check them out, or even looking it up you could make your own.
  19. You have to make sure there is some gauze involved and I never had a problem with it sticking together. I need to cover it as the area was an elbow and there was NO skin left on the elbow so it needed padding. The EMT gel did get skin to grow where the skin graft did not.
  20. you can also wrap his foot after to keep him from licking. I used to get mine at bass pro shop.
  21. Bob Carson was a friend to any greyhound he met and so many he hadn't, and a good man. He was active in greyhound adoption since 1992 and was responsible for increasing the public's awareness of these great animals. He is still missed by his family and many friends. Just felt the need to have him remembered.
  22. Lynn, I had good luck using EMT gel and then covering the wound. I know the literature on that says to leave open but due to location, her elbow, a covering was needed. It healed the open wound, where the graft did not take. We had nice new skin development. and to Walter
