  1. When Cora came home after her broken femur was repaired, I bought from the clinic a sling: a wide longish band of tough fabric (plastic coated canvas, probably) with a handle (web, like a web leash or gym bag handle) at each end. Very inexpensive and perfect for rear-end support. As she got stronger, I was able to switch to the Webmaster, but as at least one other poster has said, it's not the greatest for rear-end support and wasn't sufficient for the first few days.
  2. I'd be checking his blood kidney values, if you haven't already. My kidney dog (Jessie, gone now) was very hard to feed because her tastes changed constantly. We eventually needed an appetite stimulant; we used anabolic steroids. I have another one now that may have kidney disease--we're going to repeat the bloodwork next month--and his appetite is increasingly erratic.
  3. Handsome Lucky was lucky to have found you. He had a good life after that. I'm so sorry he had to leave. Godspeed Lucky.
  4. Hoping she is (or soon will be) home and recovering nicely. for B9.
  5. How incredibly, unbelievably heartbreaking. I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am. Godspeed much-loved Neko.
  6. I can echo what krissy said from the client perspective: Proin is a pain, especially if you have to give it a third time (the first two can go on meals), but blood tests for DES are an expensive pain. I've had pretty good success with Proin in some dogs, but others have trouble with it (diarrhea). At the moment, I have one on Proin and one on DES who seems to require it every 4 days.
  7. What a sweet photo. I hope Neko continues to get better.
  8. I'm so very sorry. I don't have any advice on treatment. I've done pain control only with mine (four of them). When we can no longer keep them comfortable, I say goodbye. The timing has varied tremendously.
  9. I sure hope the meds kick in and she can come home tomorrow.
  10. I'm so very sorry. Godspeed Plummer.
  11. I'm so very sorry that your special little man is gone. I can only imagine how difficult it is to say goodbye from a distance, but you did what was best for him, and I hope that is of consolation. Please remember all the good times that you shared with him. Godspeed Jabari.
  12. Great news! I hope the antibiotics solve the problem. For good.
  13. I'm so sorry. Godspeed Jamaica.
  14. I'm relieved to hear that she's feeling a bit better. I hope she continues to recover--quickly and well--and is not too shaken by the attack. Poor little muffin.
  15. Oh no! Not so soon after Wallie. I am so incredibly sorry. It's wonderful, though, that you failed fostering and she was able to spend the last--and best--part of her retirement with you. Godspeed Bunny.
  16. I understand. I just went through this with Jessie, who had kidney disease. I knew she could go on a while longer, but I didn't want to wait until she was miserable all the time. It's an incredibly difficult decision, and I hope that whatever you choose seems right for you and your girl.
  17. I'm so very sorry. Godspeed JuJu.
  18. I clearly remember when she joined you--she was a special girl right from the start. I'm so sorry she had to leave. Godspeed Walli.
