  7. As Batmom said, incredible. I'm glad he's doing so well now. I'm especially impressed about his ability to do stairs--I have some four-legged girlies who don't manage half flights as well as he does.
  8. A couple of other options: laser therapy and methocarbamol (muscle relaxant). Pink has been getting both (plus an NSAID and Tramadol, neither of which was sufficient) thanks to a nasty hip/quad injury. Not only is she now sound, but she has actually started jumping into the car. The only other time she's done that in her 18 months here was one day when it was raining hard.
  9. I hope the problem can be found and fixed quickly, and that Traveler is soon well.
  10. What wonderful news! Wish Steak would send some pointers to my crew about eating pills.
  11. What a relief. I hope he gets some relief--and no side-effects--from the Deramaxx.
  12. I'm so very sorry. What a handsome silly boy he was. Godspeed Captain Jack.
  13. Both Cora and Pink have done this, Pink first with one leg and then the other. All three were x-rayed; all three were some sort of soft tissue injury. Cora's affected a muscle she needed to push up, so getting up and climbing stairs etc. were agonizing (I think it was a minor injury until she went up stairs and really wrecked it; the examination and x-rays made it even worse). Pink's second one (not sure about the first) seemed to be more in the front of her leg--sort of where a human's quads are located. She'd been a bit sore off and on for a while, but last week it got dramatically worse for no apparent reason. With Cora, we used an NSAID and rest. It took months. Ditto with Pink's first injury, although the recovery didn't take as long as Cora's. With Pink's more recent injury, we hit it harder: an NSAID, Tramadol, methocarbamol (muscle relaxant), and laser. She's infinitely better after just a week. I suspect that sometimes they injure themselves in the yard and the problem is minor until they move in a way that aggravates it.

  18. I hope the vet can figure out what's happening and help Ciria feel better.
  19. I have fingers crossed for clean x-rays. Having been through the same thing last week with one of mine, I know how you feel. I hope you have the same positive outcome that we did.
