  1. I'm so very sorry. Some puppers never seem to catch a break--medically speaking--and yet somehow still enjoy life. I'm glad she had the chance to do so with da Croo. I wish she had been able to stay longer. Godspeed Maxi.
  2. I can't believe it's been three years. Loca was extraordinary. And an extra hug from her somewhat-less-crazy half-sister Betsy.
  3. I'm so very sorry. Your precious girl left much too soon. Godspeed Dreamer.
  4. I'm so very sorry. Your handsome boy left much too soon. Godspeed Angel.
  5. So glad to hear he's doing better. Hope he enjoys a quick and complete recovery.
  6. My internet connection is too slow tonight to watch the video, but I just thought I'd mention that a couple of my old dears have been helped immensely by Methocarbamol (muscle relaxant). Both have hind-end weakness. Edie, who was started on it just recently, was quite wobbly when backing up, and could no longer sit without shaking (she had a natural sit). She is now much more stable and has rediscovered the couch.
  7. I'm so very sorry. Godspeed Red.
  8. A couple of my girls have some gum overgrowth. Theirs don't interfere with anything. Neither needs a dental, so they've been left alone. Vet is not concerned.
  9. I've had some luck with Derma Gel. Honey has been wayyyyyyy too tasty.
  10. Good news! Went through this with Betsy. Finally stopped following it when there was no change except the appearance of a new 'joint mouse' or two. That was 18 months ago. that Tommy's situation is the same.
  11. To add to what Batmom said in her first post, dogs are very situational. You might, for example, teach your dog to 'down' in the living room, and be unable to get the same behaviour in the yard. Outside, people have more room to approach, probably looming and staring and maybe chattering. If you know the person, you could ask them to avoid eye contact and approach slowly quietly and sort of sideways (side-on instead of head-on) with hands dangling at their sides rather than reaching.
  12. Edie does just fine with a Muttluk. Fleece lined, I think. I've used less expensive boots with some success as well. I know it's time to get her to the vet for another hulling when she's lame even in the boot. [i can hull the other dogs' corns, but Edie's is too sensitive and too long-standing.]

    Rip Jim

I'm so very sorry. Godspeed Jim.
  14. Methocarbamol (generic Robaxin) is a stock item here. Have used it a lot in the past year. Both of the girls with weak back ends (Jessie and Edie) are now on it daily. Hope it continues to work for Carrie.
  15. How incredibly heartbreaking that she wasn't able to stay longer. I'm glad she found her way to you, and knew she was home. Godspeed Crystal.
  16. I'm so very sorry. What a wonderful photo of your handsome boy. Godspeed Toby.
  17. What a great story and happy ending for 5 puppers. Congratulations to you and especially to Tessa, who will have a wonderful--and I hope long--rest-of-her-life with you.
  18. Hope that it's not serious and can be treated/managed successfully.
