[Royal Canin Food Shortage? Hydrolyzed]

hi, we currently feed our Zeke Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein food -- I went to get another bag last Thursday and everyone is OUT. Apparently there is a manufacturing shortage/issue with RC? Has anyone heard about this, or know anything about it?

 

our vet is out, Chewy is out, Petco is out -- this is the only food Zeke is able to tolerate and I'm terrified of running out now. I usually wait until he's just about out since it ships in 2 days, and he is so inconsistent on if he'll eat or not, I don't order it too far ahead of time.

 

does anyone know anything about this? Our vet says their rep says they'll deliver on Thursday but she didn't sound very confident.

I just started Gabepentin for myself (300 mg 2 x day) and it makes me pretty sleepy. Hope your pup is ok. Our Larry has LS and his L1/L2 is almost completely fused (no disc visible) and is really starting to have issues (will be 11 next month). Have you thought of a harness to help him up?

I would try stop feeding any chicken and try another protein (but look at the ingredients, chicken is in a LOT of things you don't realize). Our Zeke (who we are still having eating issues with) cannot have chicken of any kind.

we've been battling eating/vomiting issues with Zeke since April -- he has been getting a weekly B12 injection (we do it ourselves) and also a B12 chew pill daily (Cobalequin) and while he's had some setbacks (just recently) I really think the B12 shot/pills have made all the difference.

 

hopefully Rusty is feeling better!

[Afraid Of Going Potty?]

Larry kicks up a storm with all 4 paws after he poops (and pees), but only on walks. He's partly doing it as he's leash-weird with other dogs when walking (and geese, and squirrels, and little birdies and..... geesh ) and it's kind of an territorial thing. Zeke will tear up the grass after pooping, but ONLY when NOT on walk, just in the back yard.

 

sounds like your pup is just feeling good about taking a good dump
