  1. People always say it gets easier with time, and I guess it does. But what gets easier isn't the pain, it's the ability to push the pain down to a bearable level that gets easier. If I let it come, the pain of losing Emily and Beatrice and Okie Kechi is as strong and fresh as it was the day they left. I know it's the same for most if not all of you, and I'm thankful for this group of people, you GTers, who can truly understand.

    My Goghbaby....

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
  3. One of my favorite GT hounds ever.
  4. Oh, she's sooo pretty!! Welcome home, Maggie!
  5. I'm sure he knew how much you loved him, Judy. I'm so sorry he had to leave you.
  6. Just seeing all this today--I am so, so sorry, Judy.
  7. I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy.
  8. The first night was rough--he couldn't settle and would just stand there and pant unless I laid down with him, which I was more than happy to do. He got an hour long massage, and now I NEED an hour long massage. He seems pretty much back to himself this morning, thankfully. Still a little wobbly but he's eating and drinking and wagging his tail, and even had his stuffed pig in his mouth this morning, which is a good sign. And it turns out the laryngoscopy wasn't done for some reason which is not clear to me. No one can give me an answer, and I am not happy. One of the vets got sick and left suddenly, and things may have gotten chaotic from that point on, but still. So now I'm not sure when that will get done. They don't do full anesthesia for that, but I'm not anxious to give him anything any time soon.
  9. Grrrr, vet never did call. I finally called them. Evidently he (the vet) got sick and left suddenly. Anyway, Rhem is fine. Xrays look okay. One tooth had to come out. He's walked and peed and I'm picking him up @ 4. The tech didn't know what the scope showed so I will try to get an answer when I pick him up. Thanks for the prayers!!
  10. My little man Rhem is having his teeth done today, along with back and hip xrays (trying to figure out why he's gotten so weak in the back end). He's also being checked for laryngeal paralysis. His blood work a couple weeks ago came back pretty good, nothing really out of whack. He did have some protein and I think glucose in his urine, which they'll recheck today. He's 12, and last time he had general anesthesia (2 years ago) he felt horrible for a couple days. Just keep him in your good thoughts today, please!
  11. Awww, she is such a cutie, and she and Argos are adorable together! Congrats to all!
  12. Ummm, how 'bout Mr. Heavyfoot?? Like from Kids in the Hall? I just cracked myself up. He's a very handsome boy!
  13. You have my deepest sympathy.
  14. Sending prayers for your girl. We lost our Beatrice to hemangiosarcoma--I loathe that word. One day I had a happy, healthy, silly 12 year old, and two days later we had to help her to the bridge.
  15. I'm so sorry, Tom. Rest peacefully, beautiful one.
  16. DD and DOSP, thanks for the info. Rhemus has progressive rear end weakness without obvious pain, and also is showing symptoms of LP. He will have xrays and also have his chords looked at during his upcoming dental. The other thing mentioned was a disc problem, but he hasn't had pain, that I can tell. I had also been thinking it may be LS, but given the other "neuro" type symptoms he's been having, DM was brought up.
  17. I saw that. I'm wondering if it's something else entirely.
  18. Does anyone have any experience with this? Anyone have a hound with it?
  19. Sending healing prayers to Pearl. That really is a terrific photo!
