  1. Dogs have died from one dose of rimadyl (it's rare, but it has happened) and had perferations from only a few pills of deramaxx. One of the problems with NSAIDs is that if you do not recognize the adverse side effects and stop them immediately, you have a chance of losing your dog.
  2. You need to call the vet asap. Deramaxx has been known to cause stomach perferations. Better to call and be safe.
  3. Looking for an update. I hope he heals quick and the pain goes as quickly.
  4. The only thing I question about your bill is a pain management shot. Why in the world would a dog need one for a routine dental? I just paid $279 (in February there would be a 20% discount because it's dental month) which included the dental and blood work and she was ready to go at 2:30. I think that is high, however, after seeing some of your costs, I will not complain.....
  5. I don't know why your vet wouldn't do that for you and Juneau. Sending prayers!
  6. Do you have an acupucture vet close? Sending prayers!
  7. Well, I missed this Congratulations! He looks like a real sweetheart When are you coming?
  8. I know how much it hurts. Run like the wind pretty girl
  9. Make sure they culture the urine. I'd try antibiotics (like Clavamox) as soon as the sample is taken. This has happened more than once where it was an infection that did not show up in the office (and even a culture). Sending lots of prayers.
  10. Keep in mind that FCE in greyhounds are diagnosed, but many are misdiagnosed as they are strokes. I was amazed.....
  11. Call Ohio State asap and see if you can get them to tell you the difference. Many greys have strokes, not FCE's, and the treatment is dramatically different -- aspirin vs pred (which can worsen a stroke)
  12. Which KD is he on? If it's SD, could be why he doesn't want to eat. Most follow the protein doesn't matter thinking now. Try some Solid Gold Holistique Blendz and see if he perks up.
  13. Fried turkey (in butter), EVO 95% meat--turkey. If she isn't on carafate, that will help.
  14. Dr. Couto spoke about the aspirin therapy for strokes in Michigan. Very interesting. Now to get the word out to the vets.
  15. I use olive oil but I'm sure any cooking oil will work
  16. Keep an eye on her and if she is limping yet on Monday take her in (unless it gets very bad before).
  17. If you are giving a NSAID and there is blood either in the stool or vomiting, you are suppose to stop it. Do you have an acupuncture vet close?
  18. WalMart is a good place to try! Who knows, it may be a $4 one
