  1. Rest easy, Bruno. He is reunited with Bosco for a final time. My deepest condolences.
  2. I noticed Rogue does this after #2 on the cold mornings. He kicks with all four legs then bucks with his back all humped up. Sometimes he'll dash to the end of the leash and go into a play bow. If he's off leash, he does zoomies. His whole demeanor is happy dog though.
  3. Nutro here and thinking of switching between that and Fromms. Rogue seems to do best with lower protein so I can't go too high-end. Bonus is that it's nice for my budget.
  4. Funnily enough Rogue witnessed a firework show at a friend's house we were staying over at and was absolutely fine. (He stayed in house with the other dogs while the humans enjoyed the sight in the backyard) It's deer hunting season in PA and while we were at the park last week day, someone was doing target practice near by. Rogue statued but I got him moving again with treats and praise. Didn't think anything of it. A few days later we went on a different walk and also heard gunshots in the distance. Rogue's whole demeanor changed. He started dragging behind me, wouldn't accept treats, and didn't want to smell or mark on anything. All I can think of is that it was a bit of PTSD from the first time he statued. Hunting season goes til Dec 9 so I'm hoping we'll get to work on it a bit. I'll just bring better treats.
  5. Rogue is a pretty hard chewer when it comes to edible things so I've been having great success with Dr. Fosters & Smith dental chews and Twizzies (https://emeraldpet.com/lasting-chews/twizzies-chews/(
  6. What a gorgeous girl! Welcome to the forum from Rogue and I.
  7. Also chiming in with a yes they sleep like cats! My grey is up for food and walks otherwise he's laying on a bed or rug. And if i's rainy he doesn't even want to get up for walks... ;P
  8. I cuddled Rogue sometime in the first week that I got him and got the same response. I had my head near his shoulder and he did a low growl. It was on his bed so I backed off and then resumed belly rubs without extra cuddles. He just didn't know me then. Now that I've had Rogue for six months, I can cuddle him without making him uncomfortable. Dogs in general don't really care for hugs, so I try to stay away from that gesture.
  9. What a beautiful girl. Sounds like she is settling right in with you.
  10. Welcome! We can't wait to see pictures of your girls.
  11. Hello Ni and Sunday! Love the pics (and collars!)
  12. I bathe my grey only when he needs it, which seems to be once a month (living on a farm can be dirty!). The first bath helped get the last of that kennel smell off of him. I use an oatmeal based dog shampoo I found at the grocery store. I don't think I could get my grey into the tub so I just use the wash stall we have for the horses!
  13. I've had my grey 5 months and there has been no attempt to roach unless begging for belly rubs!
  14. Congratulations on your grey! It was fun to be a small part of that journey and now you have so much more to come. I already need more pictures! It took my guy maybe a month to even try playing with his toys (I think he learned from watching my roommate's dogs) and even now he plays for about 30 seconds. And yes, it's the cutest. He really likes soft fluffy toys with a squeaker.
  15. I have a large male greyhound and he does not roach. His two favorite beds are a six pillow bed from Scrappy Mutts on Etsy and a jumbo size orthopedic foam bed with bolsters that I got from Zulily. The brand is Furhaven and it was only 50$.
  16. The issue I had was that the direct link did not work when put into BBC code format. However, the image hosting website provided a specific URL (different than the direct URL) to be used for BBC coded forums and that works without a hitch. Thank you Jeff!
  17. So I just switched everything over to Imgur but that's not accepted on this forum? Or I'm doing it wrong. EDIT:: I think I figured it out! Never can it be easy...
  18. Welcome to the forum! My grey also LOVES everyone and is awesome on the leash.
  19. Another story to the list! I was walking my adult mixed breed dog in our yard on a flexi leash. I was a young teenager and she was middle aged and weighed just under 50lbs. She saw a dog on the other side of the street and lunged for it. I didn't think and grabbed the cord as she was running and shredded my hand. Still have a scar from how deep it cut into one of my fingers.
