  1. Just a little bit of nausea last evening around 11:00 PM (licking lips). Gave him his daily dose of Cerenia, for nausea, at 11:30 PM and he seemed fine. Slept from midnight till I got up around 6:30 AM. Still having firm poops, but wasn't interested in more than a couple of bites of his breakfast. But he still wanted to go for a ride!!! Face, too. It was raining, so we drove along the beach for 10 minutes. Gave him some ginger snaps at 9:00 AM......GULP.......then he ate around 3/4 of his breakfast. Then it was an hour's nap for the both of them, and then Face woke up and started air-snapping and break-dancing and barking, and Taylor was up with a helicopter tail...............it was time for ANOTHER ride. No lip licking today. Just a "little" slower than his usual slow self. I checked with his oncologist this morning and he also feels Taylor is doing well after yesterday's first chemo treatment, and to give him another dose of the Cerenia again late tonight. Can be given every 24 hours and it really works well. Nap time, again.
  2. #1 of 4 weekly radiation treatments was done a week ago Tuesday, and the second one was done yesterday. The first treatment with the bone strengthening drug, Zoledronate was done last Friday. The first chemo (Carboplatin) was done this afternoon. 10 minutes. Taylor is eating and sleeping and peeing and pooping as he has the past 3 years. No signs of any pain or discomfort. The radiologist yesterday and the oncologist today said there is reduced soft tissue swelling in the area of the bone cancer in his right wrist, and that's only 1 week after his first radiation treatment. That's GOOD. As you can see, he's quite comfortable. That's after 4 rides today (bank, stores, vet......all with treats).
  3. It was suggested that I go with Zoledronate instead of Pamidronate. It has been found to be much more effective, costs about the same or less, and instead of taking 2 hours to administer in an IV, it takes 15 minutes. Taylor will be getting it every 3-4 weeks. He had his first dose this past Saturday, and there are no side effects.
  4. So very sorry for the loss of your sweet boy
  5. So sorry about Santa. Taylor's oncologist is only 20 minutes away, so treatment is very convenient.
  6. Taylor had his first Zoledronate (bone strengthening drug) treatment Friday afternoon. A 20 minute IV, with no side effects. That can be given every 3-4 weeks. His second of 4 weekly radiation treatments will be Tuesday morning, and he will start Carboplatin (chemo) Wednesday morning. Here he is, Friday after dinner......quite comfortable. We've been out twice already today for rides and walks, including shopping in many stores in downtown Melbourne. He's feeling fine.
  7. Taylor had his first of 4 weekly radiation treatments Tuesday afternoon. We've already had 2 rides/walks today, and he's quite comfortable. Chemo and a bone strengthening drug will start shortly.

  9. Maybe ask about a "doggy" Myrbetriq? https://www.myrbetriq.com/
  10. Taylor has been approved. Shipped UPS today, overnight, to his oncologist. 4 rounds Carboplatin.
  11. Thanks. I spoke with her Thursday afternoon, and Taylor's records have been forwarded to her for consideration.

  13. Does anyone know if OSU is still offering free chemo?
  14. Per Taylor's oncologist late today: The results of the cytology confirmed a sarcoma, most likely osteosarcoma as there was faint ALP staining of the cells. We are discussing treatment options.
  15. Just got an email from Taylor's oncologist: I received the radiology report on Taylor's chest radiographs and there was no evidence of nodules (metastasis). His heart and lungs looked otherwise normal (normal aging changes). Please let me know if you have any questions. I am expecting the cytology back by tomorrow or Wednesday and will call you when I have it. YAYYYYYY....so far. Just waiting for bone biopsy results.
  16. Testing procedures went well. Blood work is fine. Chest x-rays don't show anything unusual, and will be sent to a radiologist for review. The doctor was able to get cells that he needed with the fine needle biopsy and I should have the results on Monday or Tuesday. Taylor did just fine. He napped for the 20 minute ride home and then happily gobbled down dinner, went out to poop in the back yard and then ran across the yard to come back in. After 10 minutes of bully stick chewing time, he is having his usual after dinner nap. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
  17. Normal after-breakfast nap time here for Taylor. He is showing no signs of any type of discomfort. He's a very happy boy. The fine needle biopsy and chest x-rays are being done this afternoon at 2:00, and I should have results back early next week.
  18. Taylor's racing name was Taylor. DOB: 12/11/08 Right ear: 128H Left ear: 49193
  19. Face "twerks". He will walk right up to me.....walk between my legs.....stop when just the last foot of him is sticking out in front of me, and when I start rubbing his butt, he starts "twerking around" and air snapping. He does it ALL the time.
