  1. Good job Buddy! I'm glad you could relax with your chews while getting your treatment. FWIW, my own acupuncture experience produced excellent results that were evident even after the first session and have lasted for, at this point, quite literally decades. I hope your results are as effective and as immediate!
  2. Happy Gotcha Day, beautiful Willa and family! May there be many more of these anniversaries to celebrate together.
  3. Nate won't cuddle or share the bed, but I have similar conversations with my cat every night.
  4. They clearly know that you'll take care of signing for the packages, unpacking, and then sharing out the loot. Trust!
  5. She is absolutely gorgeous! And is apparently a ball of fire too.
  6. Willa is doing wonderfully well! No helpful thoughts on the harness twist. This may be physics we're dealing with. I'm glad you don't find that it bothers her.
  7. I'm glad Punkin is doing well. As for AnnIE, I agree with the vet. Perfect!
  8. What a great travelog. Exciting therapy. Scrambled eggs. Dragons! Also, that photo of Doolin and the sunroof is calendar fodder for sure.
  9. Isn't she marvelous! Bright, focused, gorgeous, happy and sitting!
  10. Yes, Kathy, Petey and MoMo were indeed full litter mates. She was in the same farm puppy pen as Tiger and other sibling Junior, so I suspect that they developed a strong relationship during those months together. Petey was, if I remember correctly, 2 runs down the line. I can't say my beloved girl had poor taste, so I'm going with the proximity argument as an explanation.
  11. That is a manageable diagnosis, so we'll all keep the and backandforth energy coming for Punkin to feel better soon.
  12. Oh, goodness. Thank goodness for a vet with an opening today. Backandforth and backandforth for smart Punkin.
  13. I think that some litter mates like each other and some don't, rather like sometimes happens with human siblings. MoMo Meany Pants clearly liked her brother Tiger and was happy to see him when they were both at an event together. On the other hand, she didn't seem to like brother Petey at all and growled at him both times they met in adulthood. Weird 'cuz who didn't love Petey! Chicken, it sounds as if your sibs like each other.
  14. AnnIE, you are wonderful as a reading houndie! So patient and loving. I'm glad you and Jan are going to do this again!
  15. Plus, muzzles are really not a punishment. They are a tool. They aren't painful and most US greyhounds are very used to them. I've had stool eating hounds who wore muzzles with stool guards for their fun and games and potty trips in the back yard to stop the stool eating.
  16. Jan, thank you for that exhaustive (knot to say exhausting) list! Nate won't know what hit him!
  17. I think if the muzzle makes you feel safer, that's important as he'll pick up on your comfort and confidence.
  18. My 6 y/o, Nate has PRA and is now pretty much sightless. His snarling and growling is focused on protecting his space in the house, so I've not dealt with the leash reactivity you face with your boy. I'd suggest searching this thread for the many great posts on managing reactive dogs. I think the approaches would be the same for dogs with and without sight. I'll also mention that I got a great deal of help with Nate from Behave Atlanta . These ladies worked well with me via zoom. One is a trainer and one is a behaviorist. I noted when getting the link that they've got a waiting list this summer, unfortunately. However, they are a terrific resource that approached Nate's issues with intelligence, insight, and a gentle, positive philosophy.
  19. I never thought I'd need the ideas in this thread for Nate, my dependable eager-eater chow hound. But he's on strike and I'm now here gathering ammo for the food fight. What's working right now for him is "peanut butter sauce" on kibble. That's a big dollop of peanut butter and water mixed. Off the the grocery today with the idea from this thread on my list.
