  1. Oh, Rita and Miz Ducky, what distressing, worrisome news about the kidneys. It all sounds quite miserable. Rita, eat some if you can. That may help you feel better 'cuz then you won't be hongry. backandforth and backandforth Nate
  2. Lupin, what a fuzzy baby Samoyed. Did you get to meet him or just Miss Kerry? Ma finks you look bery stylish in your tease shirts wif their stripes! Mummy says she is stunned at dis uneggspected diffrints in behaviour, plusalso she says she's flooint in sarcasm. You nailed it--human Moms are indeed party poopers. As you may know, I am a fierce growler, lunger, and snarler so I quite understand why you would hab done that. Sadly, Miss Kerry habs dealt wif a genuwine bitter and so she is extra anxious. I fink she did the perfect thing! She gave you a cookie to enjoy whilst the annoying bootie removal happened. She's a smart lady who loves you. Mam, you got a lot ob extra werk wif the Inn cranking up and the moving and cleaning for more painting. Wiki, I don't hab any beds outdoor either. Ma habs observed that I just lie in the grass weeds and sun baff so she just lets me. Bitzi, I hope the Phillies did you proud! Charlie, we don't hold you accountable for anything Zorro del Galgo posts. Though I gotta say, Ma enjoyed the excitement and suspense he got into his story. Summer and Dio, it sounds like Miss Jen mostly needs cuddles and sleeping buddies. I know you are taking good care ob her. AndiPants, don't worry. Eben if you are recowcitrant, I fink that is regarded as a minor flaw eben by the humans. Besides, there's a contract and they can't get rid ob us! Rita, I'm so sorry that you are habing potty problems plus more leish soars. Miz Ducky will do her best to help. Now that she's home, you can eat up your meals and that's bound to help. Jupe, you do know how to keep 'em on their toes. Ma got tomato plants planted--she's knot impressed with the one from Costco--and chard plants planted. Then she got seeds in for okra, basil, summer squash, and cucumber. We shall see how this gardening season goes. She is steeling herself for failure since gardening has been a heartbreaker the last couple ob years. Still, she plants and makes the attempt. Today is house cleaning day. That tires 'em out so I'm unlikely to hab too much fun today. Still, there will be cookies! Nate
  3. AndiPants, that beloved old Prius is still doing good! Mt. Dew is pretty high in caffeine and Ma kinda likes the taste too. It's been several years since she had any butt it was around the office before she retired. Miss Noo Carol, Ma's mindgrains ended the same way as yours, wif the mental pause. For her, the mindgrains changed and got more frequent and involved lots ob barffing during that peri mental pause time. She's real glad to be done wif 'em now too. Wonderful news from Mister Doug's surgeon! Zorro del Galgo, your encounter wif the bunny went the way most ob the humans here would prefer that it had gone. You made 'em all happy! They know you could bery easily hab kotched that bunny butt they're glad you decided knot to. Shame on the NYT for knot allowing Houndish vocabulary it its puzzles! Angus, all that building and renovation is real disruptive. Butt how great that it's underway! And how great that BossLady's brother and Dad can help wif the enclosed room. Wiki, that info about Mistress' werk job doing an upgrade and the difficulty ob getting anyone to test made Ma laff wif fellow feeling and nostalgia. People only paid attention to changes when they were already live. Human nature. What cha gonna do? A for Mistress. Nate
  4. Miss Jen and Dio and Summer, I forgot to postie in my first post ob the day, how much I enjoyed the snacks you kindly provided for owr backandforth time for FancyToo. Packing and noshing wif friends whilst fretting for a houndie we all hold in owr hearts is such a wonderful WFUBCC tradition. You three are THE BEST!!! Nate
  5. This morning Ma had to take the Souparoo to the dealer for some oils and to get its tires looked at and some other odds and ends. It is a 9 year old Forester and the nice fellow who drove it into the service bay got out and said, "It's just a baby! I was expecting 100k miles." They bof laffed since Twila has knot yet got eben 45k. She atie up a chunk bo MY biscuit money and 3 hours ob Ma's day. We hab another windy, unsettled sort ob day butt the wind is blowing owr cooler weather away. Angus, whateber the cause, I'm so glad that you loved GIG! Attention and pets and treats? What's knot to lub. Professional photos, new collars, fancy coats for Lacifer, and a blue Llama for you! What great shopping to be had at GIG. What a story you paint wif your werds about Lacy and the sheet and the mattress and that THUD. AndiPants, what a great job Miss Chris did ob making the deck pretty to look at and comfy for you houndies and the humans! That is a gorgeous pink dogwood tree too. Wiki, that a lot ob sawing on big limbs for poor Mistress. Lupin, Ma finks you are the mostest photogenic hound eber. I am trying hard knot to be jealous. What a nice take your hound to werk setup you had there! Angie and Kiva, Ma is now a melting puddle upon viewing your beautiful, white Galga faces. Miss Banessa, Ma always went wif Mountain Dew for the caffeine when she was facing headaches. I hab been waiting anxiously as I kotched up wif my friends for news ob FancyToo and the vet's report is in and it nasty disease. That's pretty great news since it is knot the unspeakable thing that we all feared butt is a treatable tick disease. Nate
  6. Ivy, you've got that llama right where you want it! FancyToo, we are so hoping that the vet will provide good news for your painful shoulder. My paws are crossed for your vet visit. The Inn is gearing up to start habing guests and it seems likely that Mam will get stuck werking more hours than she'd like. I'm glad eberyone is safely home from GIG. Miz Ducky, what was going on wif a hotel door that couldn't lock? Miss Banessa, I hope that doctor will hab somefing to help wif headaches from bad weather. Hab fun reading and wif yoga, Miss Noo Carol. Ma and Auntie Ann went to the gym and are home now. We got a cool, mild day today and Ma plans to werk a bit in the yard and then shower and read. I'll prolly help her in the yard for a while and then make her let me back in the house. Nate
  7. We do hab Netflix and would still hab been clueless. Were getting rained on today, though I don't suppose there'll be all that much in total. Still, no need to water the garden or the plants on the deck. Nate
  8. Hanging toe chopping at events that are apposed to be fun. What ebil werk is this! I mywonself hab experienced this and it ruins a day faster than a missed breakfast. New collars for Angie and Kiva! Ooooh, Ma finks that Aaron dude is super hampsome. Um, Ma, I'm right here. Miss Kathy, you took wonderful GIG photos. Thank you for sharing them wif us stay-at-homers. Wiki, we're getting a couple ob days ob chilly weather here too. Knot troo winter like you gots, butt in the 40s at night and the 60s in the day time when we've been in the 80s in the daytime. Ma's enjoying a final respite form the heat. Jupiter habs his Momma home! I'm napping and there's gonna be some serious reading done here today. Nate
  9. AndyPants, developing ways to communicate owr demands desires to owr humans is a constant battle, isn't it? You got some great techniques! I hab finally taught Ma, after years ob frustration, that if I am standing on my bed, standing there waiting, it means I wanna be covered wif my blankie. She has been slow to pick up the signals, but when the light goes off in their heads and they finally get it, it's a grand moment worth a celebration! Nate
  10. Ma sees lots ob great GIG photos! Thank you all for posting them for us stay-at-homes. What a great group photo! And Lacy is such a deceptively pretty girlie. Lookit her sitting on Miss Cindy's lap! And there's Angie and Kiva! And Flashy and Ivy and Cherry! Angus too! AndiPants, I'm sorry your Dad is going through a rough patch. Mistress SCORED some good plants in her shopping! Miss Noo Carol's lawn mowing fellow came! What a huge relief that the lost Wind Hound has been found! Miz Ducky's dedication to finding lost houndies is inspiring. Plus also, hard werk, I suspect. Ma's gonna try to get the indoor plants outside for the summer today and then to plant the warm season vegimal seeds. I hope Auntie Ann will be available to lemme in and out. Nate I heard from the vet yesterday with Tinker's lab results...completely normal. No sign of being hyperthyroid. The plan is that I'll increase his food a bit to help his regain lost weight. I'll begin to take him in every 6 months so Dr. McC can monitor the heart murmur and I'll keep an eye on his occasional limp--right now, it doesn't seem to be cramping his style. So, all that is good news. Lucy
  11. Pretty Kiva! Isn[t the first night in a strange place hard to sleep? I hope the next nights will be more restful, Miss Nancy. Oh dear. FancyToo, now we'll all join your Mom and Dad in being worried. We'll cross owr paws that the news is good and resolvable for your pains. Hey there, Bitzi and Wendy! Nate
  12. Nutmeg, it sounds like Zavvi is fitting right in wif you and your walking friends. Mam, how great that your kayak buddy is free on more days now. And you got 3 houndie birfdays to celebrate! Angie and Fambily are safe at their favorite hotel for GIG. Ivy and Cherry, I hope you all hab fun and see friends at GIG. Hab a safe drive to and fro. Miss Elizabeth, I hope this visit is fun and worth the discombobulation wif the time change. Oooh! You got a niece's birfday to celebrate too! Today is busy wif grocery shopping and werking wif the trainer. Ma's still awaiting the results ob Tinker's blood werk. Nate
  13. That was prescribed by MoMo's oncologist when the osteo on her "ankle" outgrew her skin and became quite an unpleasant bloody mess. Yunan Baio was a wonder! I only knew it as a capsule, Chris, so I'm interested to know it can be used topically as well. Lucy Shoo fly, Ma! Well, the Old Girls give one room a week a good cleaning and spot clean in between when needed. That routine werks pretty well to keep things at an OK level ob clean. They're done now butt the floor is drying so my beds are still dumped where they do knot belong. Friday is always busy for them, butt Ma is gonna try to move the indoor plants outdoors and get the warm season seeds planted then. She was delighted this morning when she watered the garden seedlings to see dill coming up! She loves dill as a seasoning and dill seeds too. She's also got all those plants she bought to plant. Nate, Knot A Gardener
  14. Miss Robin, I agree that the landlady's kids are knot thinking like old ladies who hab someone libing in their house or on their property. The kind ob person really matters and she could trust and feel safe wif Mister Kevin. This is sad for her and a disruption for your famibly. Angie, your holiday is starting! I hope you all hab a wonderful time at GIG and get to meet up wif lots ob friends, old and new. Safe travels! Ma is actually good at gibing cats medications. Her Yoda took a pill daily. Miles, wif his eosinophilic gastroenteritis, took several pills and a liquid, ebery day. She had a cat years ago wif seizures who had to take a liquid medication. She's had waay too much experience pilling cats. Auntie Ann's Timex was the hardest. Cherry is knot fond ob strangers in her house. Walkies are a wonderful distraction! Bitzi and Wendy Tiller Try to get some rest. Safe journey, Miz Ducky! Mam has more decisions to make on paint colors. Fun times! Huuum, that new Atlas is oddly less personable and more intimidating. I hope Old Atlas enjoys retirement. Bird Baths....that's what Ma grew up calling sink washings wif a wash cloth. Today is cleaning the libing room day, so may beds will get moved and my naps disturbed. I might retreat to Ma's room where my nighttime bed is. Nate ETA: Nancy, some Grantchester news...Grantchester Season 9, starring Robson Green, Tom Brittney and Rishi Nair, and premiering Sunday, June 16, 2024, 9/8c! Based on the preview video, I think the transition to the new vicar will be just fine for long time fans.
  15. Honestly, the vigilance with gates and leashes ends up not feeling like a constant worry, but just safe habits. I remember early in my own Greyhound journey, I spent time helping a local Greyhound owner look for her lost hound. The dog's name was Rain. We never found her. She'd been staying at the home of a friend and got out through a gate someone left open. I remember her story now, almost 20 years later. It's just a solid reminder to be careful with the dog you'll grow to adore. They really are wonderful companions.
  16. Dose poor gimme pigs. I'm glad that they are getting the care that they need. I hope good homes will come soon for all ob them. Miss Chris, Ma did knot buy any plants at the plant store. She got a meaningful lead on someone to help wif the flower beds that she has in her day dreams. Now she's gotta gin up the nerve to phone a stranger. She also petted ANOTHER DOG. I did knot get to meet him at all, though she stank ob OTHER when she got home. His name is Henry and he's a 6 month old lab/pit mix. A really attractive black wif brown brinkle and bery friendly. He's gonna learn to be a service dog to a little girl wif epilepsy. Ma enjoyed meeting him. Nate
  17. It's Bat Appreciation Day! And the bats themselves appreciate Miss RE Carol and the other good people who help them when they get into trouble. Dat is sad news about that Atlas Robot. There is something quite charming about it whether it is succeeding or doing pratfalls. Hab a great retirement, all you Atlas robots! Oh, boy, Atlas has trouble wif the Char Club rules too. Aw, FancyToo, that's sad that the landlady is losing a tenant whom she trusts and your Daddy has to find new digs. Still, it's great that he's found a place that you can all visit! Its lubly how Mister Kevin looks for ways to enhance and ease life for Miss Robin. Well, dat's nice that Mister Doug's eyeball surgeon finks his eye is fine and that he will see the cancer doc for details ob his good news PET scan! He's due for some good news. Miss Nancy ob the Burg, I hope the new mindgrain medication will help. Miss Nancy, that sure does look like a bitty miniature rose bush to Ma. Good news that the horsepiddle may spring Pap. Jupiter, Miss Elizabeth is real nervy to take your bear and mess up his smell and stick needles in him. She's unruly! Humans are so hard to train properly. Miss Elizabeth, DO KNOT take Jupiter's bear on your trip wif you. I hope you hab a safe journey and fun when you get there. Ivy and Cherry, costly new windows for your home? Humans seem to hate that kinda expenditure as much as houndies to. I just know that MIss Kathy and Mister Jim won't allow you to starve. I can shove some cookies and food to you frew the innerwebs. Let me know when you're ready to catch it, OK? No Tinker update yet. I'm hoping for a call today or tomorrow. It would actually be a relief to get a nice treatable diagnosis, so hyperthyroidism doesn't seem so bad to me. I'm a pro at giving cats meds. Miz Ducky, enjoy GIG. I'm sorry you're dealing with compression sock wrestling. Miss Banessa, Ma habs been habing the same worries about whether such a hot spring is gonna mean an unbearably hot summer. I myownself am knot all that fond ob hot weather. Lupin, I'm sorry those dastardly squirrels caused you a costly and distressing injury. I'm expecially sorry Miss Kerry had to be in a location that brought such heartbreaking memories to mind. It is sad to see a tree gone, butt a dead tree near homes needs to be removed, so that was a costly but wise decision. Heal up fast and leave your snitches alone. You, Miss Kerry, her wallet, and her heart need a break. That was great detective werk at your house, Wiki! The gym class has been done and dusted for the old girls. Ma's doing laundry and getting ready to drive up to the new plant nursery that's opened nearby. It's where an old one used to be--it was OK butt knot great. Ma's hoping this new one is gonna be good. Nate
  18. Happy 11th Gotcha Day, Facebook!
  19. Miss Nancy ob the Burg, I hope Mister Doug can get some help wif his vision and the nuffin' goes wrong. Mistress and Ma are bof well aware thatif you hab a computer program, you prolly hab a bug in it somewhere in just the right circumstances. There's no reasonable pretense that Fujitsu wrote a massive, bug-free, accounting system. Did. Knot. Happen. Miss RE Carol, you are so right--who got that money that had neber gone missing in the first place? When will it be returned to the victims? Chilling and infuriating. Mam, 25 years ob volunteering wif your dogs! Safe wishes for Miss Noo Carol and Journey's fambily. Ma mowed butt did knot edge. Why? Both batteries for the trimmer have decided they are too elderly to hold a charge. It's an old trimmer so Ma's gotta decide about buying new batteries or a new trimmer. Nate
  20. Miss RE Carol, thank you for the information about the Post Office issue from the bery ground where it is unfolding. We too hope those subpostmasters whose paid back money they didn't take and who had their lives and reputations ruined will receive justice and that those responsible will receive the kinda justice they deserve. Ivy, I hope that your Daddy gets ober his lagging jets and feels better now that he's home and can rest. Good girl PattyKake! I hope Pap's blood gets sorted out so he can come home. Party poopers indeed. The dogs who volunteer would LOVE to hab some ob that celebratory food. Miss Elizabeth, how exciting to hab banana blossoms! Ma says they do look like someone called Audrey. I neber met her so I don't know. Hab a safe a fun trip! Ma took Tinker the citteh to the vet today for his annual physical. He's had a couple ob odd symptoms and the vet heard a new heart murmur. Tink had also lost about pound--a lot on a bitty kitty. The drew blood for labs 'cuz Dr. McC suspects hyperthyroidism. We should get the results tomorrow or Thirstday. This was Ma's haul ob plants yesterday: There's chard, 6 flowers, a dill, 2 tomatoes, and a fuchsia. Plus 2 lingering ferns that need to be planted. Here's some snapdragons that overwintered in the flower pots. Here are 2 ob the baby Amaryllis bulbs that are now big enough to bloom and Ma's delighted to see that! Plus some ob the pansies they enjoyed this winter. Plus the bird baff and the squirrel and chickamonk water bowl. Seedlings in the garden...closest are snap peas, middle are lettuce plants, and in the back are English peas. Ma's neber grown any ob those before, so she's excited about them. She's unlikely to get anything planted today, though, on account ob she has to edge and mow today and it's apposed to get to 83 degrees. For Ma, that is HOT and she'll get tired from the edging and mowing and sweating. Nate
  21. BossLady was frustrated with things on the broken wall and they sent a review questionnaire on SatonDay. Let's just say that the wall repair starts next MoneyDay! GO, BossLady! Miss Nancy ob the Burg, there will eventually be more Grantchesters. There will be a cast change wif the 2nd vicar at Grantchester leaving and #3 joining the cast. Ma gets emails from PBS about Masterpiece shows so she'll sing out when they tell us when Grantchester will come again. Let's see what Ma learned whilst picking up her plants....758 Butler Road is KNOT the same as 785 Butler Road. Thank goodness for Apple Maps, which got her where she needed to go. Plus also, took her home by another favorite plant nursery. She came home wif lots ob plants to plant. Miss Caroline, isn't that Mister Bates and the Post Office show shocking and horrifying for those poor people? It is a troo story that is eben now unfolding in Real England. Gilbert and Sullivan at Longwood Gardens! What a treat! Nate
  22. Miz Ducky, you are so observant! That didn't register wif Ma at all. Ma's taxes are done and dusted, thank goodness. Ma didn't think I'd enjoy staying at a DizzyWhirled kennel so I'll stay where Spirit and I got sat upon for Grammy's funeral. They take good care ob dogs and cats at that place. Ma finks I'll be OK wifout Spirit staying wif me. Miss RE Carol, what a great, fun concert your son will be part ob. Ma wishes she could come to real England to hear it. Good job there will be a DVD! Stay safe in all that windy wind that you are getting. Ma just hear from the plant nursery that the Raspberry Echinaceas that she ordered aren't available. They offered a refund or a substitute; she decided the substitute looked pretty too. She's gonna go read until she has to drive on the interstate to get to the nursery in the next town. Nate
