  1. Blue gets exited when I get home and gets all "Humpy". Yes!! His little lipstick pokes out, and his "olives" appear, But everything settles down. Reading your posts has been a lot of fun. Laughing a lot!
  2. Just tuned in. Hope everything pans out well for June. Sounds like she is a tough lady. Hard decisions may be absolutely ages away. I envy your availability of great vets. Love and healing energy to your girl. Whispers of love to June from my "Grey" loving heart.
  3. How can he move on when you are holding him so tight. Let him cross the bridge. He is staying here for you. Let him go with love. Then you can both move on.
  4. Oh dear!!! Perhaps Percy could do with a few days feeds of boiled chicken and white rice. Bland is good. Give him time. New food should be introduced SLOWLY. I guess we are lucky hookworms are uncommon here. All the best and good luck with your boy. XX
  5. Thanks so much for your kind thoughts XXXXX Took Blue to the Vet with a penis discharge issue recently. All was okay. He said that Metacam would be better than Gaba in his case. Good news for now. I have started him on kangaroo mince raw and giving him Metacam with his evening meal. He also has tummy buffers before and after his evening meal. The little fella is much brighter, and sleeping through the night. Now he meets us at the back gate and brings in his toys. Know this won't be forever. But loving it all the same.
  6. My Blue has just had a similar experience only four days ago. Blue was neutered 11 years ago. He was licking and had a wheaten colour discharge from his sheath opening, too much for my liking. Changed to a pale whitish green. Took him to the vet. A look under the microscope showed no white cells, so no infection. I took a urine sample, showed no urinary tract infection. He is okay. The licking has lessened. I agree, get him checked out for your own peace of mind.
  7. Oh Thanks so much! Feeling a bit crappy tonight. Needed to euthanize my little cat of 18 years. Boo is sore and on meloxicam. I want to put him on gabapentin, but after the Doxepin scare I am scared. He is getting weaker in his back end. My babies are leaving me much too close together.
  8. Hi NeylasMom Thanks for your reply. No, I didn't bother to arrange a stool sample test for worms. No worms in his pooh. Just thought I would worm him to see if there was an improvement. He has three health issues Partial LP a very sensitive tummy and a hind end injury/arthritis. Blue has just gone 12. He drives me crazy, waking me up between 12 and 3am every night. either panting or barking (has been happening for a year at least) Sometimes I just give him something to eat to settle him and/or cool the bedroom to ease his breathing, or give him NSAIDS Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He has had bloods and urine tests which have all been good. I arise for work at 4.30 am. Sleep deprivation is not so good!!! I think Blue is in better health than me at the moment!
  9. Oh, my heart cries for you! I am so sorry that your Boy has gone. It's horrible to feel so helpless. My heartfelt sympathy I send to you. XX
  10. For whoever would like to read this, Blue has had a worm out!!! He seems to have improved on smaller feeds of sweet potato, lean mince and rice with steamed chicken and in between on Royal Canin ID dry, soaked. I have introduced Nutrigel into his diet a well. It is a high energy supplement loaded with vitamins. His whole demeanour has improved. About all I can do for now.
  11. And doesn't two years feel like yesterday? I hope the thought of the wonderful times can ease your pain.
  12. Blue has greatly improved on his tummy buffers and Royal Canin ID diet. I didn't take in a stool sample as last time I took a sample in for Shnookie for another issue, they didn't send it away, over looked it seems as they were too busy!!!!!! However I have worm tablets to give Blue. I have started him on probiotics in a smaller dose. Will gradually increase it over time. I am a bit apprehensive about the wormas until he is 100%. We don't have hookworm here. My dogs are wormed 3 monthly. Any thoughts please? Thanks!!
  13. Thanks for this advice, I never gave it a thought. I will take a sample in asap. Watch this space! XX
  14. Thank you for your input about stomach lining. Would explain his belching after food, and desperate grass eating. I think he should of been on these drugs quite a while ago. I tried to source information for what I could give him for his tum. The antacids which were suitable all had sorbitol in the ingredients. Seems as a pet owner we know what's wrong but cannot get through to the Vet. Thank goodness the issue has been recognised. My little man has been uncomfotable in the night for a long time now. Last night we both had a restful sleep. XX
  15. Thanks JohnF! He is on Sucralfate tablets twice a day, they are an ulcer treatment. Once a day he has omeprazole tab 20mg to cut down acid. The Vet wants to buffer his tum. He has had stiffness rising, and was looking back at his hind quarter/tum. Hence the Metacam. I agree with his irritated tum lining. He hurt himself rushing at the front gate in December, did the splits after slipping at warp speed. Was on Metacam for two weeks, then clavulox for five days. Few days off, then the Doxepin. Before the Doxepin Blue was happy and bouncing. He has been on Doxycycline at least every eight weeks for the last six months as well. We wonder if the commercial dog food was off. Don't know. He started drinking and urinating excessively two days into the Doxepin. He has been looking back at his tum for weeks now, and was uncomfortable after eating. Last night He was a lot happier Tonight he is okay, but coughing a little. He has partial LP, so this isn't so unusual. Vet wants me to give him a week on Metacam????? I guess I need to be patient. He likes the Royal Canin GI dry, but isn't fussed on the can. I reckon it resembles pate (good party trick with crackers ) He's wormed regularly, but I wonder like you about a blockage. The Royal Canin can came through his system yesterday, good stools? Will check the yard tonight for more. I guess I NEED to be patient. Looking at the water dishes no excessive drinking today YAY! Will keep an update. Thanks! How many Greys do you have?
  16. Thank you all SOOOOO much for your response. The support is awesome!!!! This site has become a lifeline for me. Blue had a vet visit today. My boss gave me time off to take him in. Went early and car aircon was good. We did bloods and a urine sample. Kidneys good ,Liver okay enzymes down a bit but same as last bloods. No diabetes no Urinary tract infection. Don't know about cushings? Heart and lungs sounded okay. Gum colour and tongue colour good. Tummy palpation okay. Red blood cell count up, but same as last bloods. Vet has decided to put him on script gastro intestinal food suc......(ulcer protection tab) And optiprol (can't spell without pack) Also some Metacam for a week. Wants to protect his tummy. Suspects a bit of pancreatic inflammation. No more fat for Blue. Will ask about cushings. Don't know if pancreas has anything to do with thirst and peeing? Hope he will be okay. Watch this space!!!!! 17. Sorry you lost Wally. May the dear old gentleman run free and fast on the other side, looking back at you with glee and love.
  18. Hope someone reads this...............Mayday Mayday. Blue is drinking and peeing, has lost body mass, and is very flat. He is eating, but his stools are the size of puppy poohs. Just drinking and peeing a lot. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow for bloods. It is going to be hot, so we are travelling in the morning. Too hot for Boo!!!! Even though it is morning. He stresses big time. I am frightened to travel him, hope the visit is quick. I don't want to wait for the vet to come here as he may not get around to it. If I don't take him tomorrow it may be two more days before he can see a vet. Could the doxepin have caused this?
  19. Don't know about food allergies? Will be interested to see what your vet says.

This post is probably a bit late. When I saw She was gone I was heartbroken, and cried. Your little white monster had entered my heart via Greytalk. There was a special reverence in her photos. Your book held my heart. Still does. Thank you for sharing Cara with us.
  21. What a beautiful girl. As a newbie I never knew about her portrait. It all makes sense now. A lovely little soul. Wish I had known of her sooner. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your little "Angel". Losing them is just NO fun! XXX
  22. Yes, they come to us in our dreams. They never really leave. I wasn't around then. I bet she was gorgeous! The cult greyhound stays in your soul forever. That's the sort of spiritual creatures they are. Smile when you think of her. She is still there.
  23. Sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful Kali. Every heartbeat is precious. Every breath. Every minute we have with them is so special. I feel gratitude for you for the time you had together. Hold these special times close. Godspeed dear Kali.
  24. Oh those fantastic walks. What a lucky boy, and what a lucky you!!!! Sorry he had to leave. A great boy going for walkies in heaven. Sorry for your loss.
