  1. as he was in a home before the foster, I suspect he was allowed on the couch so that would not be an issue. Second and MUCH more important... must can has pictures
  2. Just because you are PARANOID does NOT mean they are not out to get you, after all paranoids have enemies too, or as Henry Kissinger once said " I am NOT paranoid, they ARE after me..."
  3. I have three grand kids, eldest just entering school, but Conrad is super tolerant but then he is a VERY mellow fellow
  4. My girl Queen slept on my bed with me, and we had NO issues. My boy Conrad now will NOT get up on the bed to save his life, BUT we started him in the crate at night but after a while HE decided that enough was enough and would howl EVEN when it was NOT a full moon. He now sleeps in my room with his cat buddy, BUTTON. It was great last night, My DW put Conrad's bed down and he started the great circle journey to the perfect spot on the bed, when Button kept trying to bump noses with Conrad, button kept "prairie dogging" trying to keep up with Conrad. How could you NOT have the grey in your room?
  5. First Greyhound not at all. current greyhound, Conrad will bark at DW once he is on the bed. DW now asks him NOT to bark when she walks by him. sometimes he sorta barks at the cat, the next thing I know is the cat is sitting on my HEAD
  6. raw eggs...NEVER, oh wait...that is because Conrad is allergic to all things chicken, fish and many other things
  7. good LORD woman, the boy has NO EARS! oh and since he is good with cats I will be rushing over to adopt him out from under you now just how long will it take to get to NJ from California..... IF my DW would allow me a second he would be at the top of my list, sadly I am stuck with one GREYT boy and two count'em TWO ebil cats
  8. We had three cats, and the cats acted different to Queen, then Conrad, but both dogs acted the same, ready for a good greet in the usual manner. The Male cat was always a wimp, BUT when the dog was out of the area he would run over and rub his body all over the dog bed. the cats don't get along so Conrad does not see her much, but Button and Conrad sleep in my room and really seem to have a good time with the morning and evening sniff fest
  9. that's the way I eat'em.... don't know about the pups
  10. document all the wounds to Charlie, a cat grabbed and shaken would not leave scratches on the lower limbs. In California, when you hit a dog with your car it must be reported. hit a cat and keep driving. sounds like the cat struck first, at best you have question of what happened, and your pup was on a short lead
  11. so did they get all the way to the curb of YOUR property?
  12. has anyone used trupet to clean your dogs ears?
  13. I am in the second Tuesday of next week camp. they tell the story of a greyhound at the Solvang greytfest, where a owner attached the leash to the metal part of one of those benches you see at the big box hardware stores, a bunch of wooden seat and seat back wooden slats, with two fancy wrought iron end pieces. they found the dog like 2 towns over 4 miles away STILL hauling the wrought iron part he was attached by the leash. My adoptive group and pretty much everybody I talk with, says leash unless in an enclosed location.
  14. Here in California, hit a dog with your car, you need to help it, or try to find the owner. hit a cat...it is road kill. Same with dog on dog kill or attack is a bad thing, dog on cat oh well
  15. the indoor cat is part of the pack, the ebil outdoor cat is the enemy, since the INDOOR cats hate the outdoor cats. The enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend Queen would let our {3 at the time} cats sniff and be sniffed in the usual manner, but would chase the outdoor cats. The youngest cat was a rescue out of our front yard, BUT she was only 4 months or so old. She sleeps with Conrad and trade sniffs daily, the other cat is rarely out with the younger since they have started fighting since the male cat went to the bridge. Conrad might chase the other cat, but only because she did not stay still for a proper sniff fest. OUTSIDE, ground squirrels never make it through the fence, neither do cats, the tree squirrels ONLY make it up the pine tree IF I am late taking him out...oh and Conrad has TWO squirrel tails to his collection.
  16. hi and welcome... we need pictures and stories please
  17. so it could be the tallest greyhound or the FASTEST Great Dane regardless, a STUNNING pup
  18. beautiful brindle...as for the car, does Pacman do steps? You could practice steps, that might help. My boy gets to go up my wheelie chair ramp, but he did steps at Solvang {BIG surprise} so I walked him into the van on the ramp, then out the other side, jumping in and out
  19. Having a dog with MASSIVE food allergies, chicken being high on the list, did they also not list chicken on the ingredient list? And just what is chicken by product meal?
  20. I need just a little more money than Bill Gates, if my DW had her choice, every cat or dog she sees would be adopted When we were still dating I had to go to Northwestern for a national exam in prosthetics, I asked her to feed my fish. She walked in and saw a 10 gallon tank with a couple hundred gold fish, she started NAMING them before I could explain they are feed to my Pet fish.... I was at a pet store one time and had a bag of 200, and the little boy holding his single gold fish asked mom why I had so many. She I don't know, ask him. I stammered a bit and said I feed them to my other fish. Mom was horrified and asked the cashier that is not true is it? The clerk replied " WHY do you think we call'em FEEDERS lady!" I would love to have the dirt for a large pack, and the money to take the whole pack to ALL the greyhound festivals in the country. Well it is a better fantasy than one about hooter girls or Victoria secret models
  21. Having spent my life in the hairless ape medical field I would like to point out.... When the adoption group does both at the same time THEY are paying the bill & will NOT have to explain failed procedures When YOU pay the bill they need to worry about your pup, they also get to charge two times And when hairless apes have elective surgery major dental work is a BIG cousin John no no, it is a big concern about getting all those bugs flowing just before surgery. Spaying is probably more critical as it is a more invasive procedure, just sayin'
  22. Well there's yer problem, the CAT has been spiking Fusion's food....it is ALWAYS the cat, Conrad told me it is always cats especially his cat Button
  23. If you are in Southern California I could introduce you to Conrad, BUT I do not think he was abused, just his manner and I am sure Grace will come out of her shell, suddenly you will do something and BOOM Grace will be all over it
  24. When my boy Conrad came home, my DW thought he had been abused at some point. When we went to pick him up, unlike all the other happy head held high dogs, Conrad did NOT wag his tail and hung his head like Eeyore. He refused to get up on the bed or couch {our first, dear Queen, entered the house, turned left and layed down on the couch with the you aren't going to make me move are you?} He slept in his crate, would go do his business and lay down until I was ready to come in then lay down in the house. Well that lasted about a month, then one day he realized this WAS his home and the tail started going crazy, the squirrels are not safe in the yard and all is right with the world... oh and after about 9 months he decided to sleep in my bedroom and would roo, and whine until he was allowed, been there ever since...
