    Rip Jules

My sympathy to all of Jules's family.
  2. Sounds like your patient persistance (thanks, HHHounds) led to gradual desensitization?
  3. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
  4. Farewell, sweet amber-eyed Darlin. It must be so hard to tell her former owners, too, with that link to their daughter.
  5. I wonder if the location/soil makes a difference, too. At my old house, none of the 5 greyhounds there ever dug. The soil was hard red clay, and we were surrounded by little yappy dogs who started barking the instant either the greys or me stepped into the yard. New location has no yappy neighbors (as of yet) and I think the greyhounds are hanging out longer in the yard. Also, the soil is looser. Both greys, who never showed signs of digging before, have excavated some big holes at one side of the house. Reminds me of that song, "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, think I'm gonna go eat worms. Big fat juicy ones ... "
  6. Love those freckles on his nose! He does look more like a Bo than a Bogardus.
  7. Flying Nero looks cool! I'm originally from North Carolina, as well, but haven't moved as far as you. Greyhounds are greyt no matter where you are.
  8. Shouldn't that be PAWS DOWN? Glad Lindsey and you have someone to help heal your hearts.
  9. What a gorgeous dark brindle! And he's just a baby!
  10. Oh, look at Carol's beautiful big eyes!
  11. What a handsome boy you have!
  12. It must feel so bittersweet to know that your hounds are all home without Ramm. I'm glad Albi seems to be taking control of his situation.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
  14. A peaceful passing in his sleep -- best for him, but such a horrible shock for you. Run free, sweet boy.
  15. It is an honor to have one of those bossy redheads come in and take charge of your life and your heart. Thank you for being the perfect match for her.
  16. I am so, so sorry. What a beautiful dog he was, in all ways.
  17. Adding our good thoughts to Turbo's collection.
  18. Sending all sorts of white light and gentle, healing thoughts for your boy.
  19. Scout came to me at age 9 with 2nd from outside toe missing on a rear foot. I don't know why or when it was amputated. He was an active dog for 9. The other toes on that foot gave him some minor problems (tended to swell every now and then) but nothing remotely major for his remaining 4 years.
  20. Not a vet, nor do I play one on TV, but I agree with you that combo of the change of food plus a cooked rib bone might be enough to cause all this digestive havoc. But don't beat yourself up about it. With diarrhea, I follow the school of having them not eat for 24 hours to let their system rest. While trying to get them to drink as much as possible. Then very gently start with small amounts of of non-fatty solid food. Some of my dogs have been able to change food brands with no problems; others have had to be slowly switched over a week to prevent stomach upset. Hope your boy feels better soon.
