what ever you train them to do they do. as per night whining, i generally resort to a plant spray. one spritz and they stop whining- but remember your dog has always been crated, so this should not be a difficult transition/kennel crate to home crate.

felix responded well to adequan. the initial loading series then every 3-4 weeks and closer as he aged. then if the weather was good we could extend the shots back to once a month.

mmmmm.....sounds like typical dog/toddler/food relationship on steroids! i just spent 6 weeks w/ my grandson, my 2 dogs, 1 elderly hungry dog(meds and senility) and 1 food agressive mature dog(she has always been crazy with food). the later 2 live w/ the kids who we were visiting. maggie the food aggressive dog just needed to be muzzled. she has never worn a muzzle before but the lightweight whippet muzzles fit her perfectly and she didn't even know it was on. also, during meals she was crated. toddlers snack all the time and it's a difficult situation. but going after food and your food especially is a NO NO! use safety measures, Sharon Conger(has post in merchandise section of GT) sells the lightweight muzzles from Ireland. They are worth their weight in gold. You may be anti-crate, so then leash your dog to it's bed while food is in the making and serving and praise for a long down stay. Also, teaching the dog how to receive food- treats and then teaching the toddler how to give treats will be time well spent. In my experience dogs just get super hungry with the 3-6 feedings a day that little kids indulge in. oh, FYI- the kids' dogs have been around for 10-12 years prior to having their child who is now 17 months old. My two love kids and only saw their breeder's grandchildren, so they know about kids. My saluki was 6.5 years of age when our DD was born, he adapted well to life w/ a baby.

seriously, try to hydrogen peroxide. you girl needs scar tissue then it won't open and bleed again. i poured it on the first couple of times, then used a baby medicine dropper to squirt it on the area.

i went thru this with annie. our late wonderful(old fashioned country style) vet had me clean the site 2xs daily with hydrogen peroxide. yup- to form scar tissue. it was a royal PITA to rebandage 2xs daily, but i got really really good at bandaging. it worked, no problems what so ever. she had the Vulcan salute and continued to run like the wind w/ absolutely no pain or bleeding.

carprofen is rymadial, right? i use less carprofen then the prescribed amount since i noticed that sighthounds get more than wonky from it. for arthritis- metacam and Pecid AC before dose/meals. Adequan seemed to work the best but it is a royal PITA loading up to the full dose.

my daughter's late dog emma had the same reaction to sound, specifically the stove/oven. this all started w/ her first signs of dementia.it sent her into a tizzy!!!! her vet recommended cotton in the ears when they cook and Senelife. Senelife takes around a month or so to kick in, it sorta worked. I didn't have any luck with it with felix. try the ear plugs(cotton balls) and see if you can get away cheap. Growing old ain't for the faint at heart.

felix had kidney disease due to anaplasmosis, tick borne disease. Yes, carbs are the way to go. Rice, pasta, toast, cereal. dogs can do well with out kibble or meat, feed at least 2xs a day. watch your dog like a hawk, the toxins sneak up on them and they are poisoned from the inside out. advanced kidney disease can result in seizures. it's not an easy road to go down, sorry to read about it. oh, felix was on an anti-nausea med and eventually on prednisone to increase his appetite and improve his quality of life. he had a tad under 2 years once diagnosed.

a young should NOT be behaving like that. a couple of questions: how long have you had this pup?, why are you NOT using a crate- their comfortable safe place? why are you going away on weekends and not taking your dog? a kid- no matter how grown they are are not going to have the connection or dedication to be with a dog. they are in and out, a normal kid is out more than in. your dog feels abandoned. stay away from CBD or other drugs, this dog needs to feel secure thru training and interaction. what's the normal routine when your home? exercise schedule etc. talk to your adoption group. this dog may need to be in a group setting. a young dog should be getting into trouble.

toss it over the fence into a yard waste compost pile that is adjacent to illegally parked commercial vans. hopefully the drivers will step in some as they get into their vans. i do layer some lime into the compost during the warmer months. prior to the invasion of commercial vans i used to bag it and send it out w/ the trash. but i just can't tolerate the line up of commercial vans and the police do bupkas! (commercial cars/vans need to be parked in a driveway). occasionally i have good aim and hit a window!

7 is old enough to be suffering from arthritic discomfort. complete physical with full joint manipulation and maybe a NASID to make him more comfortable. and how are his nails? long nails are painful to walk on. he now has established a habit but this sounds like discomfort to me.

contrary to what has been posted above- vet check/blood work thyroid, communicate w/ adoption group- she may need to be part of a pack, if thyroid and medical check up are normal then a consult w/ a trainer/behaviorist but see if the adoption group will maybe split the cost. yes, routine and consistency are most important but this is not what you signed up for. she may need a rural setting with a fenced in backyard and no walkies. it's not you, it's her nature.

all i have to say is thank d-g i don't have cable! if mango(who watches tv) saw this event my living room would be wrecked. she just got her junior courser and qualified courser(she can now compete) last weekend. i have never ever had a dog who had such a strong crazy prey drive for coursing. just the sound of the lure machine drove her to nip, jump, lunge and do all the bad things a dog can do on lead. i'm not faint at heart when it comes to controlling a dog- but she was a wild one. hopefully the AKC will play it on their web site. i can watch it with the sound off and the door closed.

i think you will get a better, more accurate answer on an Italian Greyhound site, try Facebook. Italian Greyhounds are included in toy breeds vs. Greyhounds are hounds- sighthounds to be specific. My friend in Texas walks her healthy young IG a good 4 miles a day, but that's a young healthy dog and she is NOT jogging.

if you are looking for a low fat solution then why not boil ground turkey up and use that broth w/ a tad of the ground turkey as a topper? just skim the fat off the top of the broth after it cools. it will keep for a week at a time in the fridge. 1 package can cost around $4- in my book that works.

hugs- fortunately mouths heal really quickly. just remember that- the removal and antibiotics will help immensely.

email purina- they respond promptly! one of my dogs started loosing weight on one of the varieties i had to change to since the beef and rice is no longer available. they had a suggestion and sent over 2 coupons for 2 full bags of kibble(up to $61.99) and 2 little coupons. if you ordered from chewy they will credit your account, have you donate it and replace it w/ something else. i had a bag of pro plan sport that the dogs were refusing to eat. chewy sent me a bag from a different lot. if you purchased it at a pet store, bring the remaining food in and receipt or if you are a member(ie petsmart/petco rewards # they can look it up)- they too will credit you. food can be stored incorrectly or over heated in transportation. i'm tired of throwing $$$ out the window. btw- no need for the baked chicken breast- kibble is complete nutrition. think of it as baby formula, you don't add anything to that do you?

also, if you bring him in for a recheck, do a quick snap test to rule out any of the tick borne diseases if you like. prednisone is a wonder drug- to improve felix's quality of life he was on it the last 3 months of his life. appetite increase and his yodeling and antics returned. again hugs- getting old ain't fun for either beast or us~

this is exactly what i was thinking. check the mouth out- and unfortunately dementia shows up in a wide variety of ways. the first sign that willie wonka had it was he got lost at the vet when boarded. willie had LP and i couldn't travel w/ him during the summer months so he went to the vet. my vet noticed well before us that even though he had the same crate he was getting lost and couldn't find his way out to the runs. the standing in corners came months later. hugs-
