  1. I always think of you and your Rusty whenever this anniversary comes around
  2. That is beautiful and it really catches his spirit! We all miss him.
  3. Phoenix went to the bridge June 4, 2011. I could not write a tribute at that time. It hurt too much. Phene was my first greyhound. I adopted him in 2002 at one of the lowest points of my life. He healed me. He was sweet, easy going and very peculiar, even for a greyhound. He was diagnosed with osteo in late May of last year and I let him go a week and a half later. It was the greatest gift I could have given him. He was pain free. He loved his sisters Treasure and Loca, his cats Linus and Allen, Eric, my dad and me. I hope he is frolicking with Loca, Linus and my dad. Love you and miss you, Phenie. you were the best. My favourite photo of him, taken at his final Dewey by Tricia (45mphk9).
  4. Ok. This is so sad. You're looking so hard for answers and good veterinary advice and you've been let down. I have one more suggestion which won't be very expensive...the symptoms you've described sound a lot like my bridge Angela Phoenix before he was diagnosed with a tick borne disease called babesia. The symptoms were subtle, but I knew something was off. He seemed depressed and got tired just walking across the street. His appetite was poor, also. Has Vinnie been tested for them? How is he doing today?
  5. Good news about Vinnie! Do you think it's possible that he could have been reacting to the hot weather?
  6. Oh man, there are so many stories! She earned her name by standing mpon my dining room table her first day home.mthere was the time she disciplined a young puppy and it took four of us to pry her mouth open...at a meet and greet at Petcetera. She opened a mason jar of soup. She opened my closet and dresser drawers and pulled out all of my clothes. I had to have her tied to my waist for a month and a half to get her to stop trying to eat my cat; she was supposed to be cat safe! At Dewey one year she broke into a roommate's suitcase and stole dog dog treat. She used to steal toys from little kids. She used to jump up and steal toys from shoppers at Dewey. At MacShea's in Dewey Brach, she decided she wanted to sit with Amanda instead of me. She climbed on the. Table to change sides. She was a wild woman, and she was an 8. 5 year old brood mama when I adopted hr! Despite everything, she was so sweet and loving. Every time a dog got injured in play group or was picked on, she would stay by it's side. She took care of me when I was sick. She never met a stranger. Loca was one of a kind. Thanks you so much for your comforting words, all. I miss her like crazy.
  7. The photo was taken by GT's KelseysLackey. It's my very favourite picture of her.
  8. It's hard to believe that my crazy Loca has been gone for three years. What a silly, crazy dog! My house still hasn't recovered I miss her every single day. She was one of a kind. I like to think that she is hanging out with Phene and fellow June 1 bridge angel, Walter, kicking up a storm the way only she could.
  9. I can't imagine a galgo would be comfortable in a crate, as they wouldn't have grown up using one. Like Jersey, Iker prefers to take up my entire bed. Iker doesn't really pay much attention in English or Spanish The only word that really gets a reaction is "vamos".
  10. Good luck with the x-rays. Let us know the result, ok? Phoenix was diagnosed with osteo a year ago and I let him go 1.5 weeks later. Like 45MPHK9, I may have taken a different route if it would have cured the cancer, but since there isn't a cure, I just cared about keeping him pain free. Breaking a leg was a huge concern, which was part of the reason I let him go so soon after diagnosis.
  11. Oh no! What a shock! I'm so very sorry. Please don't beat yourself up over this. It happened so fast and you did your very best for Dreamer. She had a very good life with you.
  12. Oh yes, it can be missed, and missed numerous times. Loca had one forever and the results kept coming up negative. There is another test that Loca had that finally allowed her to be diagnosed, but I don't remember what it's called. Somebody here will know
  13. Oh no, Sheila. I'm so very sorry :f_white I miss the three As.
  14. Poor you. Poor Vinnie. This must be so frustrating. How is he now?
  15. Brandi, I'm so sorry that I missed this; I was in Spain. I'm so very sorry for your loss :f_white
