  1. Ugh. Iker is going in for a dental tomorrow. He has a tooth that is broken near the gum, which has been like that since I adopted him. I'm a nervous wreck since he is the first galgo ever seen by this clinic. The clinic is very experienced with greyhounds since their groomer breeds and courses CKC hounds, but that doesn't stop me from being really scared. Please send him good thoughts, ok? He is a real sweetheart. thanks
  2. I would guess that was why and we're both kicking ourselves for not getting the x-rays done when he first started limping (6/24) -- we would be 2 weeks farther in treatment Our vet thought it was arthritis too...we should have known better. We hoped it was arthritis too and if they hadn't had to put him under for the x-rays we would have done them that day. Still wish we had Kim, we could beat ourselves up for that, but we do the best we can
  3. I had an appointment with the chirpractor the same day I find out about Phene's osteo. We went in for his appointment and she sent us home. She was crying Maybe she was afraid of hurting him? I am going to guess that he had osteo for quite a while as I sent him to the bridge a week later, and the chiropracter had been treating him for arthritis, which was what my vet kept saying he had until I insisted on x-rays. Please don't feel bad that I feel bad. So many of us have been through this and it's painful whenever somebody else has to do the same.
  4. Will the chiropractor see Nube? Phene's refused to see him after he was diagnosed with osteo. I'm so glad he is doing better. I have to selfishly admit, reading this thread brought back so much pain regarding Phene, but his improvement is fantastic.
  5. That's one of the awful truths about osteo. One way or another, it always wins. Always.
  6. What a sweet looking guy. I'm so sorry
  7. My job at FBM in Spain is to socialize the spooky and traumatized dogs. Take a long leash and make a noose at one end. When the dog in backed into the wall, don't face her. Keep your back to her and slip the noose part over her head. While you're walking her, don't acknowlege her fear. Just keep walking like nothing is wrong. You can talk to her, but don't baby her. She might buck, but just ignore it. The Spook Harness from Majestic Collars has been a life saver for both Iker and me. Once you get the noose over her head, you can take a leash and attach it to the harness. Good luck! This tecnique has been very successful with lots of galgos. Sorry, I posted this without reading your update. Seems like all is great
