  4. i could tell loca doesn't feel well. i left an open bag of potato chips on the floor last night and they were still there this afternoon
  5. eewwwwwwwww! wipe Loca's dirty bum??? just kidding i'll try that.
  6. interesting...loca is so low to the ground when she pees that it's practically impossible to get a urine sample. thanks for the info. i'll talk to my vet about it, but at age 13 i doubt we'll do anything other than treat with antibiotics. i will ask about that shot, though.
  7. that's a really good question. it seems like Loca gets treated for a doozie of a UTI every year! i've often wondered if it is one long lasting UTI. btw, i gave her a pepcid tablet about 1/2 hour before i gave her the antibiotics, so hopefully she's feeling better, but who knows because she is knocked out! thanks all for the great advice and good wishes
  8. Karen, I'm shocked and I'm so sorry. I'm devastated for both of you. We'll all miss his teeny, little tail and his star quality.
  9. Hi All, Loca has been receiving treatment for a bad UTI for three weeks and still has enough meds for another two-three weeks or so. I've noticed that she is really slowing down and I've had to help her into the car since she's started taking these pills. Apparently Loca has a combination of two infections and there was fecal matter in her urine. She taking Clavaseptin 250mg 2x daily. When those are gone she will be taking Clavaseptin 50mg 2x daily. She also has Metacam. Does anybody know anything about Clavaseptin? Is this change in behaviour normal? Will she get back to her old, bratty self when treatment is completed and she is better? So what if she's 13 years old, there's no reason why she can't be the same Loca she was a month ago, is there thanks in advance for any advice
  10. Linda, I've been dreading this day for a long time. My heart breaks for you, Lou, Dave me, and everybody else that will no longer get to spend time with the lovely Cricket.
  11. with all due respect, i don't think you're describing anything that is abnormal for a newly adopted greyhound. everybody's given really good advice; i'd like to add my own. relax . it's only been a few days and it takes a while for things to settle.
