  1. Memories live forever in the heart.
  2. I do the 3yr protocol for DHPP & Rabies. Bordetella can be every 6m or annual depending on exposure. Doing titers is a good thing. I just got Molleigh her first Canine Flu VX on Thursday, with a boost in 2-4wks. We do a lot of M&G's at Petsmart and the local SPCA's sometimes are there. This flu is highly contagious like kennel cough... The reason I decided to go with this vx is that we have had cases in our area local shelters. About 3yrs ago we suspected cases coming from the Petshop/Puppymill stores. This vx is made by Intervet/Schering Plough. In the almost 20yrs that I worked in the Vet industry and seeing thousands of vaccines given, I can say I rarely saw any reactions from Shering Plough vaccines. My other fear is that this flu virus which was first discovered at the Greyhound tracks could get worse in our area. We still see a number of Parvo cases each year, they have had to close our SPCA this year on a couple of occassions because of it. Canine Flu is a mutation of the Equine Flu and is called H3N8. No VX is 100%, but it will support the immune system and help lessen the symptoms of the virus. Sadly I have not gotten my Flu vx yet because of low supply...keeping my fingers crossed.
  3. Holly I am so sorry, you gave him love and life even if for just a short time...please take care. Carol & Molleigh
  4. Advantage works really well...please be very cautious of "Store Brands" they contain chemicals that can cause very bad reactions in cats.
  5. Run Free Flashman...I am so sorry you had to leave.
  6. Prayers and good karma for Tuesday....he should do just fine
  7. "1:30am e-vet gives buprenorphine injection" Don't know if this is any comfort, but my Angel Molly always reacted to this drug with panting and pacing. We discovered her sensivity to it after a dental. Good wishes this morning that she can get some relief. NSAIDS do not always work with just one, the blood levels have to get to a certain level.
  8. Feel better Jake...the foot looks really inflamed but if the bruising started in his armpit it could migrate...glad the fever is down maybe the inflamation what ever it is... is starting to subside.
  9. Super greyt news. Catching the first one early was a devine intervention (most likely from Polli) Elsie sure has an awesome guardian angel and Mom.
  10. Please little candle work some magic to heal those hurting and to keep the bridge from receiving anymore.
  11. I am shocked as the rest are...sometimes the unknown takes our loved ones to the bridge. Jed was very lucky to have had you, I am sure Ember with take over from here. My deepest sympathies
  12. Greyt advice Robin, but for those of us who have cats the same goes for them. If they were spayed young it is rarely a problem, but if it was never done or the cat was an older un-spayed rescue it would be good to check. Now the hard part is that it might take two or more people to convince the cat to roll over for a brest exam.
  13. Get some rest Amber, the shot should settle his system down. If you want to check his temp, get a cheap digital thermometer put a bit of sterile lube on the tip...normal temp runs around 102.3. Hope he passes some more gas for relief.
  14. Amber & Soul we are keeping you in our hearts...please get better Soulman.
  15. Please little candle light the way to healing
  16. Welcome from Virginia......but born in Berea OH
  17. Robin I am sorry you have to go through this but the size of the tumor and getting clean margins is excellent news. I have seen a lot of older females with numerous mammary tumors much larger. Maybe just maybe that is why Polli sent Elsie to you. She knew that Elsie would have the best care no matter what came up.
  18. I so remember the days of "Eau de Anal Glands" the scent that lingers. Previcox is great I have seen it help so many dogs with arthritis. Because it is only given once per day it makes it easier on the owners and dogs. Hope the hygiene clean does not last too long for both of you.
  19. You might call the Vets from your car when you get there, so the staff can come out with a sterile container and get her sample. Dogs usually like to mark that they have been there. If not the method from the abdomen is easy and safe. I was always suprised how well cats did with it.
  20. This will be an interesting study and it is about time the EPA got involved. I was in the Vet industry for almost 20yrs and saw these products evolve. Advantage was the first we had and was god send for many pets. These products were sold to Vets only in the beginning for a good reason, Vets usually report adverse events. I have complete faith in Advantage and Frontline Plus but nothing else. Most reactions we saw and yes sometimes fatal were from the over-the-counter brands sold in grocery and pet stores. Counterfit goods are very scary. We did not carry Advantix because too many clients had cats and dogs and cats are not to be exposed to it. The article brought up the most important advice that owners read the label, a lot of reactions were because of owner miss-use. When Advantage first came out we actually had a client give it orally not on the skin.....yes the pet survived.
  21. Time to make sure it does not go out......for those in need
  22. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  23. Little candle work your charm for those that need it.
