    Shep

I'm so sorry. What a beautiful tribute for a beautiful boy. Rest well, Shep. You were loved.
  5. Greetings from Gainesville, FL! Greyson is so handsome!
  6. I agree with the idea of bringing a new pup home. Our beautiful Robin passed away in November and I still tear up every day thinking about him. The emptiness I felt after losing him was terrible. We still had our Toby, but even he was kind of "blah" after Robin left us. I knew we had space in our home and lots of love to give. And then our local adoption group got a shrimpy little cowdog in that was looking for a home after being pulled from--let's just say--less than ideal conditions. So I figured, 'why not?'. And I'm glad I did. It is so nice to be able to have a little happiness back instead of all that grieving. No dog would ever replace Zero, but if there's room in your heart to love another one, I would definitely recommend doing it. Hugs to you. I know exactly how you feel.
  7. Hi and welcome to GT from Gainesville, FL! Stan is adorable! I can see why you've fallen in love with him. Congrats to all!!
  8. Preacher is beautiful. Yep, it takes them a while to bloom, as I like to say. Little by little. You will be amazed by the changes in him 6 months from now! He looks like a sweetie pie. I'm not sure where you adopted him from, but remember that he's likely used to living in a crate by himself ie with no one startling him or touching him unexpectedly. So remember that as sweet and cuddly as he may be, he's brand new to home life so never plop down next to him or put your face up to his, etc while he is sleeping. And tell any houseguests or kids the same thing!! (Just my 2 cents). Enjoy your handsome baby!!
  9. Hope Fuzzy is feeling better soon. Hugs for the sweet boy.

    Corbyn

I am so sorry for your loss of Corbyn and your other pup. How heartbreaking to lose two so close together. Corbyn was beautiful. Rest in peace, sweet boy.
  11. Hugs to you as you remember your beloved boy. It seems so unfair to have lost Macho after such a short time and just 5 years old.
  12. I'm so sorry. Xander was such a handsome boy.
  13. Italy is beautiful! Congrats! I always mix just a couple of spoonfuls of stuff into our hounds' food to make it interesting (and to help get rid of human leftovers, because I can't stand food going to waste). They love any kind of leftover cooked veggies, any leftover meat or gravy from said meat, spoonfuls of soup, casseroles, etc. etc. Like I said, only a couple of tablespoons per meal. We're not dealing with weight issues here, though.
  14. Greetings from Gainesville, Florida! Congratulations on being adopted, Ami! You are a very pretty girl, and I love your huge smile! Your mom has come to the right place, because GT is a wonderful resource for all things greyhound. I like to think that greyhounds "bloom" over the course of 6 months to a year after being adopted. If your mom has any specific questions about training, there is the Training and Behavior section on GT. Lots of experienced people will chime in and help with any issues. Again, congrats!!
  15. I am smiling as I read this. Hugely complicated souls who took huge pieces of our hearts with them when they left.
  16. Hugs to you as you remember your special boy Slim. As you and I have discussed, Slim and Robin shared some, but not all, very similar personality traits. Robin, too, was definitely my warrior in a greyhound suit. I loved seeing all the pictures of your boy. I hope that he and Robin have found each other at the Bridge and that they are hanging around together up there. They were both gone far too young but then it is impossible to picture this type of hound growing weaker into old age. It's hard to explain but I know you know what I mean. Rest in peace, Warrior Slim. :f_red
  17. Oh, no. I am so sorry Pam. Run free sweet Buddy. You were loved. Way too many losses of GT hounds lately.
  18. My heart is breaking for you. I am so sorry. Beautiful tribute to your beloved boy. Rest in peace, handsome Sam.
  19. Katie Scarlett was a beautiful girl. I'm so sorry for her loss. Run pain free at the Bridge, sweet baby.
  20. Tony, I am so sorry you've lost your precious Zero. He had a wonderful life with you, sadly cut short by that horrible disease. Rest in peace, handsome sweetie.
