  1. So beautiful! What a gorgeous black coat-like the finest velvet.
  2. Very moving. A powerful remembrance.
  3. My heart is breaking for you. And oh what a beautiful and moving tribute! Sending love and peace and my deepest sympathy. The Way In the darkness I turned to go; my last day's done; I'll miss you so. No time even to say goodbye or to lock the tears spilling from your eyes. That's when I heard you call my name; I knew right then I must turn back to help ease your pain. Since I've no voice with which to speak, its whispers in your dreams I'll make. Ease your heart and rest your mind, my time with you was the best of kind. I couldn't have asked for a better friend, we've shared our journey to the very end. There's one final thing you need to know, I'll whisper in your ear before I go....."I'm leaving first to find the way...so I can lead you back here with me on your last day." -(SLong)
  4. They don’t know how many times we’ve looked into each others eyes. They don’t know how many times Slim was the only one by my side. They don’t know that EVERY night we were together-we were never separated not even for a single day. They don’t know how much you changed me, They don’t know how many times I held your snout shut so I could kiss you without getting bit. They don’t know how many times I talked to you-the only one who really listened. They don’t know that it was just you who knew when I was in pain. They don’t know that if things went wrong, the only one who didn’t go was you. They don’t know that you trusted me even though humans had pitifully starved and abused you before we met. They don’t know that you trusted me in every moment of your life-even the last ones. They don’t know how much we love each other. I love you more than any other living being-ever. They don’t know how many times the scene of you being led off to surgery, our last embrace, has been played over and over in my mind. They don’t know how brave and courageous you were…the blood on the inside of the door from your injured mouth when you defended our home from burglars one day while I was at work. They didn’t see you charge forward and circle me to keep me safe and defend me from a huge street dog that weighed twice what you did running loose that growled and aggressed on me. They didn’t know what a brave fighter you were and how you came back from the dead THREE times that horrible night after surgery; how stressed the vets were to see you suffer like that and not give in. You had cheated death so many times I had to give you EVERY opportunity to be victorious again because YOU were truly NEVER out of any fight. They don’t know how you have been faithful all these years and have guided and taught me things I needed to learn from the other side. Important things I could learn from no other. They don’t know the many signs and tangible gifts you leave me all the time. How I need them. How I collect them and journal them because they are special above all else being from you. They don’t know how you help me in so many ways- training the other dogs, protecting our home and us, teaching me important things I need to learn that only you can. They don’t know that I think of you every day-because you are with me everyday still. They don’t know that I wear your tag around my neck ever since you crossed over because it has your energy. They just don’t know that you are inextricably part of my soul, and that you go with me wherever I am. I may not see you but I know that you are there. I know that my eyes were opened and my life really started the day I met you. They don’t know that you watch over us much as you did in life, and that moment when I step just barely outside of death or disaster, it's because you moved my feet or you stopped short in front of me as you did in life. They don’t know that a dog like you is something only given to a few people. They are a gift from God and, though they're with us only a short time, they never really leave us. They are loyalty and love perfected, and once we are graced with that sort of love we can never lose it. It can never and will NEVER go away. For these brave souls trade their hearts for ours, and they beat together beyond sickness, beyond death. They are ours, and we are theirs, for every sunrise and every sunset, until we are once again united- in eternity. 6. I have used Springtime products for many years because they are outstanding. Especially Fresh Factors. That is like a miracle drug. It gives older dogs for instance extra months/years of a good happy life. Had one dog that began to have trouble getting up. Put on Fresh Factors she acted like a puppy and lived several happy years after that and didn't have trouble getting up anymore. It helps them with everything even their coat. I have noticed that when you put a dog on them for the first time it often appears their eyes kind of light up even. Had another dog on Fresh Factors sail through chemotherapy and amputation in terrific condition-still jogged with me. If I didn't give them anything else they would get Fresh Factors. They also get the Garlic Granules BECAUSE IT WORKS, PERIIOD. Some people go to walmart and buy el cheapo garlic to use and then say oh it don't work. Garlic is no different than anything else. You get what you pay for. I have NO TICK PROBLEMS WHATEVER no matter how infested an area I am in because I give the dogs their Springtime Garlic Granules. And since I don't want ticks on me I take the people version of it -and I am very pleased to say it works. I also give them the Skin & Coat oil because if I don't Octanes coat gets dry and dandruff and Reba gets ear and anal gland issues. No kidding. So I give them the oil and their coat stays wonderful and I don't have ear or anal gland issues with Reba. Also Time4ANap (Thank you!) told me years ago how the Skin & Coat oil had helped Rocket's allergies and so I give it to mine to keep their allergies from getting too bad also. I may also give them the Spirulina to but I believe the oil definitely helps.. It all depends. These products work plain and simple. BTW I also take the People Joint Health myself that they sell along with the people garlic. But heres a great tip. The dog garlic granules smell so good that I always add them to spaghetti or italian things that I cook for us because it is sooooo good. I have used other of their products as well. They are all good. The best quality available IMO.

  10. Might have to muzzle. If she is swallowing rocks/rock pieces it could result in an impaction requiring surgery. And if she damages her teeth too much; well dental care is expensive. Its no trouble to pop a muzzle on and they really don't care about being muzzled.
  11. Those greyhounds can be pretty tricky when it comes to getting food they really like. Not long ago Octane-who is known as a treat bandit because he HUNTS for wherever I put the treats-he will even check laundry/clothes and coat pockets -managed to get an entire bag I had just opened and quickly and expertly got every little treat out of the bag with his long skinny nose hehe. It was like 10 or 12 ounces and the only thing left was a slimy empty bag He timed his move for when I was busy taking Turbo outside and therefore wouldn't see him hehehe. Actually I am probably what brought this on when I trained him to do nosework. He learned that if he smelled something he wanted that all he had to do was hunt for it and voila! he would find it and get rewarded. And he is very good at it hehehehe. I'm actually quite proud of him as I trialed him twice and both times he titled with the Nat'l Assn of Canine Scent Work on his first try!
  12. I tried and tried to post it but it kept saying it was too big even though I had resized it to tiny. I thought the Google Drive link was supposed to work. I will see if this link from my Outlook will work. It has in the past. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aovi9jww8DCQn2lCQqpH0iKuH3FJ?e=Mu1zdw Thank you for your help!
  13. I know what you're talking about. I was trying to take several to get some good ones but he ate them so fast they turned out blurry like yours. I was lucky to get one that wasn't to bad.
  14. And a grand time was had by all! Octane ate- or should I say inhaled! -his so fast I almost didn't get any picture! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HqJLLFYko-OkOxz7Wv2HpRj-Ugh6y8P5/view?usp=sharing

  18. One of my FAVORITE photos...the pimpmaster Rocket could wear it right!
  19. It's that time of year again. Wednesday the 13th is National French Fry Day! Of course you can't think of french fries without remembering what an aficionado Rocket was! Therefore the last couple of years many of us have marked that day as an excuse to spoil our hounds by letting them have some FRENCH FRIES!!! It has been greyt fun and as you know our houndies do need to be spoiled on a regular basis. It is also gratifying to remember Rocket at this time and how our hounds-especially the ones who become public figures here- and I won't name them because there are MANY and I won't risk leaving anyone out-are so very very special. They know who they are. Also special thanks to their peeps who graciously shared their precious hounds on the forum so all of us could love them also. So it is also a happy and heartwarming little remembrance for all the GT hounds that have meant so much to us and then crossed over. And oh the memories we make by surprising our current hounds with FRENCH FRIES! Thank you Rocket! You are loved always and will never be forgotten. PS- The pictures are always awesome. Please post pictures.
  20. Just his stopper pads. He wears them down when he stops and runs beautiful and fast as greyhounds do. Completely normal. You just have to wrap them properly before you cut him loose.
  21. Always call his name or something to get his attention before you touch or move him if he is resting/sleeping. He is not being aggressive. He is just doing a common greyhound behavior called sleep startle. He is a good boy. Incidents not his fault. There is an OLD OLD OLD dog saying that bears on this. It is "let sleeping dogs lie."
