  1. Bev I'm so sorry to hear about Wallace. Sending good thoughts and prayers for him
  2. When we first brought Marvin home we used a sling under his hind end to help him with walking and with getting up. There is no way I could have put a harness on him with a front leg amputation. After a couple of days we didn't need the sling, I just walked him with his collar. I got a wrap around tag bag from long dog leather for his tags so they wouldn't hit the area. When he was well enough for walks, we just used his collar.
  3. My Marvin passed away from osteo at 7 1/2. I found out in June his littermate Flash had it and he was ent to the bridge. I have Ramm, also a littermate, now 10 and I am worried about him. I contacted Dr. Feeman through this board and asked him about littermates and cancer and mentioned my concerns for Ramm, this is what he replied. Sending prayers for Isis' brother.
  4. My Kassie was on PPA for 4 years and is now off of it, she is 8. My Ruby has been on it for almost a year and she will be 8 in Sept. Sometimes it can cause high blood pressure but they were both checked for it and they were fine. She could be inflamed there because of the leaking. They can be wet there pretty much all of the time between the leaking and licking they do. Good luck
  5. My heart hurts for both of you, I'm so sorry. Sending prayers for Hershey.....
  6. Marvin's was $2169.46, that includes the surgery, anesthesia, fluids, etc., etc., etc......
  7. If you CLICK HERE you can read what I posted about my good boy Marvin (I can't believe that was 3 years ago ) Everything is in my first post but you have to start from the bottom and read up. Below the ************ is before the amputation, above them is right after.
  8. Every dog is dfferent and you just don't know how much time they will have. My Marvin had radiation, amputation and had one more chemo treatment to go when he broke a back leg (on the same side as his amputation) and we had to send him to the bridge. That was 3 1/2 months after his amputation. I'm am so sorry, it is just an awful situation. Sending prayers and hugs.
  9. Thanks for posting this Trudy, I just printed it out. John and I were at Costco on Sunday and I looked at the Kirkland Chicken and thought the ingredients looked good so I bought a 40 pound bag and it was only $20. I'm glad to see it ranked 110 A+. We have been feeding Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Ultra Premium, which is rated 122 A+, but is now $43 for a 35 pound bag. I have been mixing them together and I think I might switch over to Kirkland. My brother and his daughter have been watching his co-workers puppy for the past month. She sent a bag of Blue Buffalo with the puppy which is also rated high, 106 A+. They had to take her to the vet (worms) and the vet told them they should be feeding her Eukanuba (which has a low score of 79 C) I couldn't believe a vet would recommend Eukanuba over the Blue Buffalo.

    Oh no, I'm so sorry
  16. I use my Swiffer Duster with the extendable handle. I take the dusting part off and tape a new plastic container (like Ziploc or Glad) to it. I've needed to get several samples from my girls and this works well. I just follow them around the yard and when they squat I slide it right under.
  17. Sending good thoughts and prayers for Ryan. That joint looks like it hurts, poor boy
  18. Those pictures are too cute. Still sending prayers for Darcy
