  1. Gentle hugs. I'm sure Vinnie is nearby, watching that you're ok. Because we all know that HE is ok, and now painfree. He'll always be in your heart, and I hope the lovely pictures and memories of your time together will help your heartache heal in the weeks and months to come.
  2. I like adding Vetricyn spray to a wound like that after it has been cleaned. And if you have some Purification (Young Living Oil) or Animal Ointment (again, Young Living), I would apply those as well (in that order). I wouldn't bandage, but would muzzle a hound that was licking on the wound. BTW, Riley got one of those wounds (running through mulch) and it was healed within a week. It was still tender, though, so I will be watching for re-injury for the next few weeks.
  3. Thank you for sharing ... I'm so sorry for the hard decision you're making, but I'm certain that Vinnie has found a way to tell you that he's ready when you are. Please share some pictures of your lovely boy, and know that our hearts are with you.
  4. I'm so very sorry ... gentle hugs.
  5. All good advice ... now we need PICTURES!!
  6. Cherish every drop of good news ... the bad news can overwhelm so quickly, but those little bits of good news make the fight worth fighting. Prayers for your strength.
  7. I'm so very sorry. We'll be watching for all of the new moments that you capture, and hope that there are many of them.
  8. glad you all made it home and it sounds like Truman is healing ... what a relief! Perhaps not the honeymoon you intended, but certainly full of excitement!
  9. Enjoy your trip! When I travel, I have one of my greyhound friends watch my dog(s) , and I return the favor (or pay a nominal fee, depending upon which works better for my friends) in return at a different time. The greyhounds generally play well with each other, and greyhound owners already know the details about how to keep your dog safe and secure. Don't forget to give your dog care provider written permission to address any healthcare needs that may arise. .
  10. Oh no ... Congratulations on your wedding & honeymoon ... at least you'll have some stories that you can share (with a smile, once Truman is fully healed).
  11. Olewo carrots resolve Riley's poisonous, paint-peeling gas & subsequent liquid poop. I'm just figuring out (after 10 years) that Riley gets gurgly after eating beef products -- ahhh, the relief we could have had so much sooner! He's now enjoying chicken-based products with almost no consequences (which doesn't help you one bit, but does make my house much better smelling!) good luck! As everyone has already said, a bland diet won't hurt your pup even with your other health concerns. If that doesn't rectify issues after 36 hours, I would CALL my vet for advice (and plan on taking him in after 48-96 hours). I pull that schedule up sharply if dehydration is a risk.
  12. yippee! I hope she remains pain-free for all of the time that you have together. We'd love to see pictures of her!
  13. Watching closely ... my 12 yo boy has the same issue with limited success from chiropractic treatment.
  14. lovely pictures -- and family! Check out other posting options if you intended to post the actual pictures rather than links ...
  15. Welcome to Greytalk, and I'm glad that your pup is doing well! With 'voracious eaters', make sure EVERYTHING is off your kitchen counters when you're not home (yup, lost a loaf of bread while I was mowing the lawn once). With some work, mine learned that if they go lay down, they get rewarded with a treat (of course, my friends are appalled that I take treats to my dogs). And to post pictures, there is a pinned topic on how to post (you'll set up an account with photobucket.com or other compatible storage site). Have fun watching Indy's personality grow over the next 6 months or so -- it's amazing to watch!
  16. Oh My ... I just responded on your other thread and then saw this one ... I'm so glad that things are looking brighter, but goodness you've had a rough week! HUGS to you both!
  17. Prayers!!! Deep Breaths! I know 3 great chiropractors in Chicagoland ... where are you located? If you can't increase your posts in the next few days (understandably you've got other focus right now), I'll post my email address here for you to contact me and I'l get you connected.
  18. I haven't tried Slippery Elm (yet), but Olewo Carrots are a godsend! Of course it won't work if the issue is worms, but it works so well that I keep it included in my pups' regular diet (one 1# bag goes a LONG way ... you need 1 tbsp of reconstituted carrots in a meal). Good luck!!
  19. CARE Animal hospital on Palatine rd in Arlington Heights ... http://www.carevets.com/... 847-394-0455
  20. you've already been given the advice I would have, so i'm posting to send gentle hugs. If you'd like to try some essential oils, check out animaleo.info, where Dr Melissa Sheldon, DVM, makes some lovely essential oil blends that can help with mobility and possible neuro issues (I personally use her NEW MOBILITY oil for my arthritis, and her CALM-A-Mile works like a charm for some of my friend's storm-phobic greys). Since I can't help much, I would also love to see pictures of Rainy ... good luck tomorrow ...
  21. He's been such a gift to you ... I'm so sorry for your loss.
  22. That picture says it all -- THANK YOU Momma, for giving me a FABULOUS life! I'm so sorry for the hole in your heart ... gentle hugs, and many memories.
