    Miss Echo

What a wonderful friend she must have been to you. A special hound comes along now and again that seems to bond with us in unique ways. They fit our lives like a glove and wrap themselves all around our heart keeping it warm with their unconditional love. How lucky you are to have had such a special girl. I celebrate her life with you.. L.
  2. I hope your hearts heal well and true with memories of your precious girl.
  3. I'm so saddened to see this. Angel must have been a most wonderful girl. Your Miami family sends hugs and prayers for your heart to heal with the memories of your sweet girl. Leslie Extra Hugs for Rascal from his friends at the kennel.
  4. There is a reason why this beautifully distinguished gentleman came into your life. His life was changed for the better by you taking him home as was yours, for knowing and loving him as you have. Thank you for giving him the best years, the best love and the dignity he deserved. L.
  5. I'm so sorry that your "puppy" Guinness had to move on to his last journey. Its so hard to fathom saying goodbye, especially when it sneaks up on you. The pain we feel at saying goodbye is so well worth the joy that they give during their time with us. He rests well in your heart and memories and, soon hopefully, in a painting. He was loved and charished. L.
  6. These special pups find their way to where they are suppose to be. She found her way to you. Thank you Gil, for being the person she needed you to be, patient, understanding her needs and then loving her enough to hold her close with open hands. L.
  7. How very sad. The hounds have lost a wonderful advocate.
  8. Things happen in our lives that we have no control over. Cake was not alone. She was with her packmate Gussie and you were there in her heart. Leslie

  19. I dont think it would be from the neck wound. Glad to see that you have stepped in Judy. Nothing better than the voice of experience.
  20. Its good that you cushioned him to keep him from banging himself against the wall and toilet. I have never heard of being scared into a seizure. Seizures are abnormal electrical firing in the brain that can be caused by any number of things from lesions in the brain, tumors, small injuries that may not show any symptoms after the initial injury, and can also be caused by metabolic imbalances. Xanax is not for seizures and I would not use it even as a calming agent for storms. Time for a good checkup by the vet. A seizure once a year is managable and you may want to consider putting him on seizure meds. That is something to be discussed with your vet If the seizures are self limiting to a very few minutes or less, we let them run their coarse, keeping patient safety in mind, and only give them valium if the seizure doesn't break on its own. Bear in mind that there is a postictal stage after a seizure where your pup may be confused, anxious, ataxic/wobbley on his feet or very groggy. It can last from a few minutes to a few hours. Here again, safety is your priority. Call me if you want to chat. Kiss Steak on that beautiful face. YEP, agree with above! Judy would be a good source.
  21. Gus's Tacro (my bad spelling) was compounded in a solution as opposed to an ointment for his Pannus. My doggie "Eye Doctor" recommended them even though we are in Miami and they are in Phoenix. I never had any issues with Dr. K. faxing the Rx and all I had to do was cal them when I needed a refill. Was able to pay for it with my credit card and Gus's drops lasted me for many months at a time. It cost about $40.00. Call them and ask for a price on what you need. Their customer service is excellent. As for remembering Gus, they never met him. They always put a toy in with the Rx. Turn around time is only a couple of days. Call them or have your vet fax or call..... L.
  22. These are the days we never forget Hilda. The "Goodbye" days. We remember them always, just as they are always with us in our hearts. L.
