Guest TorynUs
Patti and Fred- I said right out loud as I logged onto GT and saw your post....OH NO! Bursting into tears, I am glad I am not at work. I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am at your loss of Sophia. She truly was an angel on Earth as I am sure she is now over the bridge. You and your family have shown people all over the world what it is to love a pet, how they ARE family members. You went over and above what most people would do to try to help her and you gave her the most love a greyhound, or any other pet could have ever hoped to enjoy. She was SO lucky to have you for parents, and she is smiling down on you with many thanks and an abundance of love in her heart. Yes, we here on GT all felt as if we knew her, especially after viewing the adorable little video clips of her. I want you to know that it is because of Sophia that I would consider at some point in my life, when the time is right, to adopt a senior greyhound. And when I do I will for sure be thinking of your sweet angel. Pam

Guest spazkaz
Patti, There aren't words to express my deepest sorrow at hearing about your loss. I am sorry I never had the chance to meet your sweet Lady, despite living in the same city. But in many ways I feel I have met her, I know her in my heart just like everyone else here on GT. May she run free now at the Bridge. My deepest condolences to you and your family. -Karen
Guest greyhoundobsession
I didn't see this thread so I'm copying my post from the other one. I am so sorry Patricia. All the sinking and aching feelings of loss that you have when you have to say goodbye....they came rushing into me when I read your post. I am so sad for what you and your family are going through right now. There is nothing worse. I wasn't on GT and a friend called and left a message on my machine about Lady Sophia....I had to get to the computer to try and say something to ease your pain but there are just no words. The Lady had the most special enchantment about her....she was truly a classic girl, a treasure. I feel like I knew her and will miss her and remember her always. Run free sweet baby girl. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die…. Greytlady94
Lady Sophia, run carefree with all of the other sweet Angels at the Bridge, and then pause at some moments in your play, and send your mom and dad a message in a rainbow telling them you are ok. Beyond The Rainbow As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity. I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide! And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be! My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do. I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night. 'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold. For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no eye can see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart. Guest sherpays
Patti, Also, take comfort in knowing you showed many the wonderful joys these seniors can bring into our lives. There is no doubt that due to your special relationship and unique bond with Sophia, many others have adopted or will adopt a beautiful senior in the future. Again, God be with you and your family as you heal. The pain is so unbearable. Edited August 3, 2004 by sherpays
