CraftyDragoon
My girl is prone to tearing skin when running, and I've been recommended by a few people to use vet wrap prior to letting her run. How do you do this?? We have a 'greydate' coming up and I really want to let her run without having to clean and bandage her up afterwords
cleptogrey
It is ok for holding the dew claw in place. Often coursing hounds will have them wrapped. My dogs would not walk with a wrap around it.
greysmom
The trick is to not wrap it too tight. That results in swelling. You might contact your vet and see if one of their techs can give you a demo on how to do it correctly. robinw
My vet suggest unwrapping what you need from the roll, then loosely wrapping it on the roll again prior to use. It prevents it from being too tight. Quote Xavi the galgo and Peter the cat. BatterseaBrindl
My vet suggest unwrapping what you need from the roll, then loosely wrapping it on the roll again prior to use. It prevents it from being too tight. Do the wrapping while the dog is standing, bearing weight on the leg. You can wrap loosely then gently press it together.
