greysmom
We didn't even have heartworm in Oregon till after we started getting in rescued dogs from Hurricane Katrina. Dog movement and climate change making it more hospitable to mosquitoes have really changed things in the NW. Now I don't feel comfortable *not* treating my dogs. cleptogrey
I remember the days of daily heart worm meds! Yup, 4 month of a pill a day and annual testing. It was such a relief when monthly meds were developed.
