Busderpuddle
Our 5 month old puppy does a strange thing every time we are playing. She loves to play wrestle before bed and before we lay down in the afternoons. During these play times, she constantly turns her back and puts her butt in my face. Luckily she doesn't toot, but it happens every time. She is happy and playful when she does this. Does it mean anything, or is it just a quirk ? KickReturn
I have seen this in a mature dog. A super sweet little black girl that I care for occasionally shows affection by giving a "hip check" to those for which she feels affection. She will leap a bit at the same time and try to press her hind quarters against you. I thought the behaviour was unique.
GreyTzu
Freddie Mercury does this. Of course he's a little freak anyway so it's to be expected. I think he is just trying to mark me with his ass scent. Or he wants me to admire it. He is such a freak. Quote Wendy and The Whole Wherd. American by birth, Southern by choice. Busderpuddle
It sounds like others have been given the bum a time or two. A friend said it is a trust thing, that she is showing me she trusts me by turning her back to me during play. She is silly Quote Karen
LaFlaca
Silly baby! Maybe she's asking for a butt scratch? My son's dog backs her butt up to everyone's legs asking for scritches. sobesmom
You're supposed to give it a good sniff. Then let her sniff yours. You know, like dogs do! LOL!

I tend to only see it from dogs who are really appropriate though so I'd say just be happy and play on.
