My daughter and I lost two of our loves just 2 days apart once -- and while that wasn't quite the same, I do know it magnifies the hurt -- which is already quite enough. Guest StagnBob Posted December 30, 2011 Share Posted December 30, 2011 Thank you all so very much for your kind words, its so very comforting to know people understand what we are going through. The house has been so quiet over the holiday period. Merlin was old and very steady, but Stag... he was just the most outgoing hound, always following me around, always running and barking with the terriers and just always THERE! Walks are now quiet, as Stag didn't like to meet any dog that wasn't a greyhound, mornings are now quiet as Stag liked to be up and about early, meal times are now quiet as Stag liked to let everyone know dinner was ready! We even left the Christmas Cake out on the counter this year, as Stag was the only one who would ever steal anything! The only time he was quiet and settled was when he came into my sewingroom with me, he loved that special time together! There is such a big void now and I feel myself looking to fill it, not that any dog could EVER replace my beloved Stag, but just to have a character around again! The girls are very 'girlie', loving their beauty sleep, and the terriers, well, what can I say, they are just not the same!
