Houndtime
Lucky and T-Cup were running in my daughter's back yard. T-Cup came across and forced Lucky into the fence and he ripped his chest open. My daughter is at the vet now and they are doing blood work as they have to put him under for the stitches. When she left the wound was about 2.5 inches and by the time she got him to the vet it grew to about 4 inches. This dog is such a momma's boy. He is probably just freaking out right now. Please send good, positive thoughts for my daughter as well. Thanks. Lucky and Fuzzy, best buds. Like I said, the dog was so upset when he arrived, they are going to sedate him a little to get him calmed down. They will do the surgery tonight, after 8 PM and my daughter can pick him up tomorrow in the morning, if all goes well. Houndtime
Lucky's surgery is complete. He started to swell in the injured area, so the doctor had to debride the wound first. He now has a drain and the stitches. He awoke very upset from the anesthesia and started flailing around and screaming, so they gave him some valium for now. Our daughter should be able to take him home in the morning. Leash walking, no running for a while. My little grandson was hysterical, so a neighbor took him to the movies tonight. Houndtime
Poor Lucky came home this morning, very thirsty and still a little wonky. The wound actually winds around under his neck. Very Frankenstein'ish looking. My little grandson won't look at Lucky. He gets very upset. Houndtime
Just had a call. The drain is out and the stitches look good. Leash walking for at least another two weeks. He is not supposed to do the stairs, but he was crying last night to go up to the bedrooms, so my DD brought him up.
