Houndtime Posted October 27, 2010 Share Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) We took Paul to Philadelphia this morning for a dental. He will have a few teeth pulled. As of this morning, he still had nine left. He also had another senior blood panel(on the last one his creatine was a little high), two vaccinations and a general physical. The doctor said he looks great for nine years old. They are keeping him overnight, at least, for tonight and maybe an additional day. When they pulled the 27 teeth at one time, he had some bleeding problems, so Mr. Wolf wants to keep him until they are sure he is good to go. He may still come home with a few teeth!! I am waiting for the phone call to find out how he is doing and how many teeth remain. ***Update: They just called. He is doing fine. He had eight teeth extracted. So, I said, he now has one left? They said no, he has a few, but they don't have the chart. I never counted, but was told he had nine; apparently he had a few more. He still has his canines, at least one in the back, and they bonded them. I feel better. I was a nervous wreck this morning. ***Update: Paul stayed overnight and came home today less eight teeth. He now has a total of 5 teeth. They somehow bonded and strengthed the gum line of the remaining teeth. He has his canines and one back tooth. They guess that he has one more year with that back tooth. Poor Paulie. I fixed him some kibble crumbs and pumpkin tonight for dinner. I have one can of organic chicken dog food in the house and tomorrow I will stock up on some cans for him. He has not lost his appetite. So, please keep our sweet boy in good thoughts for the next few days while he is healing. It has been a rough couple of weeks in our house between Fuzzy's back injury and Paulie's teeth. Just as long as all the beings are healthy again, that is what is important. Thanks.
