Burpdog
However, the IE8IC which is the latest IE update still doesn't work, does it? Not working for me at work in all aspects. Some of the layering is fixed. Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits

Burpdog
I was replying to that post. Home is fine, work still is not. Are you saying the IC version is working for you? Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
Jeff
the latest version available for me is 8.0.7600.16385. works fine. IE6 is plenty usable, IE7 ad IE8 work fine. If you have problems with those browsers, you are having a local issue that you need to correct. It is not anything with Greytalk. Fix your IE issues or move to a better browser. Some of the layering is fixed. That is not an actual version, but the IC does tell us something: The "IC" means it's an "Internet Content Provider" version - it's been customized by a 3rd party, usually with their branding. Open a normal, non-modified IE8 and try that.
Jeff
up early on xmas day, so I've been making some changes on the server side to help speed things along. Things like tuning the SQL backend, web server and php. Let me know if you see any 'additional' weirdness or if you perceive any benefit All data passed to you over the net should now be compressed, so hopefully pages load a bit faster, especially for dial-up users. GreyTzu
Lots of weirdness here at work. The screen flips back to a white version of GT. Quote Wendy and The Whole Wherd. Jeff
Got to love that Microsoft released SP3 in May 2008 and our companies are still using old outdated, unpatched, insecure software. Your best bet would be using a thumb drive with a portable browser. It your computer is a standalone and not part of a full network build, the IT guys may be able to update you to SP3 and IE7/
GreyTzu
We are hooked to the full network. I tried the thumb-drive thing, no luck. It won't run. Quote Wendy and The Whole Wherd. Jeff
did it work on the pen drive at home?
GreyTzu
Kevin said it did. The help desk just installed FF! We will see how long it lasts on this computer. Is there anyway to hide it from the other users Jeff? I pinned it to my start menu and will delete the icons from the desktop. Quote Wendy and The Whole Wherd. American by birth, Southern by choice. Jeff
they can install it for just a single user (you) depends how the help desk installed it.
GreyTzu
Let's hope that's what he did. He gave me "admin" rights for the few minutes while he did it. He never asked if this was a single user PC, so I guess I'll enjoy it over the weekend and hope it's still loaded when I come back next week. :lol Quote Wendy and The Whole Wherd.
