Guest houndhome
In just four weeks of chemo treatment for lymphoma, Tigger, my ten and a half year old male, is in complete remission. He is back to his old self and running around the house and up and down the stairs again. He has tolerated the chemo very well, and except for the some loose stools and 3 days of lethargy, you would never know he is having chemo. The treatment is incredibly expensive, but we are so lucky to be getting the chemo from the Greyhound Wellness Project at Ohio State, and lucky that we can afford the treatment (who needs a new deck anyway?). Tigger was in stage IIIA lymphoma when he started, and things are looking really good that he will be here around next year at this time, but we are happy for each good day he has. If we had done nothing, we would probably be saying goodbye to him this week. We have 26 more weeks of treatment to go. He is seeing Dr. Nancy Gustafson, Oncologist, of the Vet Referral Center, Springfield, VA, and she and the staff have been wonderful. I know this is a very personal choice with many things to consider, but I am very happy we decided to have Tigger go through the chemo. Okay - big negative, the prednisone is giving him horrible puppy gas. Oh well, it is good to have him here, horrible gas and all.

queenwinniesmom
I think it does everyone's heart good to hear news like this. Lymphoma is supposed to respond very well to chemo. Bless you for being in this for the long haul, and bless Tigger giving us hope.
