His collar somehow became stuck on the post of part of the fence, I assume as he jumped up to say hello to a cat next door. I called the dogs in, and when he didn't come, went to investigate. He strangled to death on the post, and I had to cut off his collar to free his body. To all my dear and precious friends who came in my hour of need, the words "thank you" aren't even adequate. My heart was breaking, but you all brought laughter and smiles with your tears in remembering Roo's antics. I am so glad you were all able to say goodbye to my special boy. I also thank you for assisting me to move his body to an appropriate place until tomorrow. I really don't have any more words right now. The tears are starting to come back in force. I have never had a dog like my Roo, and I never will find a dog like him again. Goodbye, my handsome, gentle red brindle tiger boy. I am so glad we had the time together that we did.
