Guest MichelleG Posted December 7, 2008 Share Posted December 7, 2008 My baby boy Gavan, my first greyhound and my heart dog died suddenly, with no signs or symptoms, on November 18th 2008…. Although we only had two and a half years we were so close, and I miss him so deeply. Although I still cry a few times a day, and I am crying as I write this, I can take comfort in knowing that he will be waiting for me…and that he is up running free and digging huge holes in the sand. For those who were at expo this year, my Gavan was one of the two dogs that did not stop at the end of the race…but just kept running. He loved to run, and he loved the beach and would go a bit nuts digging holes in the sand. He was a funny boy with a sensitive way about him. I would not trade the time I had with him for anything, I just wish I had more time. I guess Gavan was watching me and knew how I felt…..he guided me to see a picture of Tick, now Tegan, a big boy who had been waiting for a home for over two years, who is now lying on a dog bed next too me as I write this….It might sound odd, but I know Gavan picked him for me… Here are some pictures of my beautiful boy and at Expo Run free baby boy..... (Gavan and his buds hang at Roosevelt Island in Arlington, Va, Summer 2008.) He was quite a character, Michelle. He'll never be forgotten.
