  1. My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  2. I see Kirkland Lamb and Rice at Jet.com I accidently came across it while looking for a hard to find hairspray I use.
  3. Washable pee pads by the back door or on the spot they like to pee
  4. Thanks for the update.....yes I can't believe how fast they come back! Hopefully, you and Castle will get a little break from corn hulling
  5. Awww, making her doggie nest how sweet
  6. We get the 2 step vaccine here in Pennsylvania it's required for any dogs staying in my Vet's hospital for any procedures or boarding now.
  7. I guess with the right conditions as you say rain and mud. Just wondering...Maybe a reaction to the Abreva?? My corn dog's corns never seemed divet deep enough for anything to get infected.
  8. Ditto! But making sure she is not suffering while an answer is being found.
  9. I've helped 4 of my greys over the bridge, most emergencies that had to be at a vets hospital but my last big girl, Zoe, I was able to plan and have a mobile vet come to our home. All this vet does is euthanasias. It was the most peaceful passing of all experienced. They took her away in a black PT Cruiser. The cost was VERY reasonable here in central Pennsylvania $350 with a communal cremation and burial but her name is on a plaque. I'm so sorry you had such an experience
  10. Hoping they find out what's going on with Lizzie fast.
  11. oh my! what an ordeal for you....so glad you got him to your vet to have Leo rechecked. That's very disconcerting about the care the e-vet gave him but how were you to know they would mess up so much.
  12. Hoping all is well with Fusion. I thought W/D is a diet food. maybe I missed why he's on W/D? I remember most dogs not really liking W/D.
  13. RJ is doing really well. He's had all the Tate's mentioned earlier. It must have been stress. How awful for him. I didn't realize how much my stress extended to him. We both do much better when we get out and walk at the state parks and trails. He loves car rides to anywhere so if it raining out we go for a car ride. or too cold we go to the pet store 😊.
  14. I'm finally checking in. My Mother passed away Sunday :'(. RJ has only been mildly fascinated with water. It rained today and he went on a slight rain licking frenzy. Nothing like in the past. Could it be a behavioral thing? I don't know. I'm hoping it will all pass. The only thing that I did differently a month or so ago was give him a bath and apply Frontline. I've never used Frontline on him before.
  15. Finally checking back in. RJ has been doing good only a little quirky about his water. Thank goodness he's doing ok because my Mother is seriously ill. We live in Mechicsburg PA. So I'm open to any suggestions for good vets. I was glad to read one post that since RJ has been better I don't need to do anything right away. It will give me time to locate another vet and help my mother. Thanks again everyone!
  16. I'm 2 hours away from UofP so I will look into that. The vet we go to is on Greytalks recommend vets and helped write Greyhound for Dummies. I don't think he was checked for Cushings. I'm not limiting his water. he's drinking I think a normal about but in a weird way. He drinks a little leaves goes back drinks some more. he slept all night! yea. My mom was transported to the ER yesterday and admitted so I haven't been able to check into other options yet. Thanks everyone. I'll keep you posted.
  17. I'm not sure how I'm going to get a culture done with the current doc since he's dead set on the water deprivation test. Wouldn't I need a referral to see an Internal Medicine Specialist? And I don't know where one would be. I guess I'm going to have to do some checking around. The drinking started from his bowl inside and I did not discourage that until he drank so much he vommitted water. then I limited the amount of water I put in his bowl at one time. Then one night like last night he started the obsession of the outside water. I've been stressed new job 3 months in, mother and father are very sick so I'm sure he senses all that. He was doing better when we went for hikes but we haven't been able to do that lately because of taking care of my parents and the weather. He's resting good right now. The rain outside is drying up. I hope he and I get a good nights rest so I can think clearly about all the great advice everyone has given me and I can figure out what to do next. Thank you everyone!
